Biography
Michael R. Menachof, M.D. is an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor (ENT) in the Denver area. A native of Santa Rosa, California, Dr. Menachof grew up in the Sonoma Valley. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley with honors. He received his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco, consistently ranked as one of the top ten medical schools in the country. Dr. Menachof graduated with honors in the top five percent of his class and was awarded placement in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, Dr. Menachof remained in the Bay Area to pursue his training in Head and Neck Surgery. After a general surgery internship lasting one year, he chose to focus his remaining surgical training on the study of the head, neck and face. Upon completion of six years of internship and residency Dr. Menachof received his board certification in General Ear, Nose & Throat, Pediatric Ear Nose & Throat, Head and Neck Surgery, Hearing and Balance Disorders, and Facial Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Menachof began private practice in northern Virginia, just on the outskirts of Washington D.C. Although the hustle and bustle of a thriving practice in a very exciting city certainly had many benefits, the sacrifices to family life were also great. In 1991, Dr. Menachof, his wife and four children moved to Colorado where they have resided ever since. Soon after moving to Denver, Dr. Menachof recognized the special difficulties inherent in practicing a mile above sea level. He pursued a prolonged course of extra training and was accepted as a fellow to the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. In 2000, Dr. Menachof was instrumental in founding Advanced Ear, Nose & Throat in the Denver Tech Center, which by 2015, because of it’s reputation, focus, and expertise in the successful treatment of difficult sinus, nose, and allergy issues had become known as Advanced ENT & Allergy Center. Since that time, the practice has continued to grow and was recently recognized for excellence by the National Business Advisory Council. Dr. Menachof has always been actively involved in teaching and continues to train residents of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he is an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Menachof has been active at the national, regional and local level, both teaching and presenting at professional conferences. He regularly attends national conferences, ensuring that his care is not only personal, but also “state-of-the-art”. His work is published in medical and non-medical journals as well as area magazines. He is the recipient of America’s Top Physician’s Award for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Additionally, Dr. Menachof is a member of an elite group of surgeons who been accepted into and recognized as a Fellow by the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Menachof is one of those doctors that engages and truly listens in his approach and continued care. He took the time to get to know my circumstances and properly diagnose my allergies, as well as thoroughly and accurately assess my blocked nasal passages. Prior to seeing him I had been treated by 3 other places and still suffered from severe allergies....I had forgot what it was like to breath through my nose. Dr. Menachof's competence, confidence and humility radiate positively and the are demonstrated in the results I've had under his care.
He has been a pleasure to work with. As a result of Dr. Menachof's allergy care program and his best in class surgical talents, my quality of life and energy has improved dramatically beyond expectation over the past couple years and continues to progress. I seriously can't remember ever being able to breath in and out my nose(both sides) so freely. Special thanks to Miss Ginger for her compassion and attentive support.
