Always so caring and thoughtful of his patients. Also down to earth when explaining things

Excellent doctor, who listens and is fully knowledgeable. I always take his suggestions seriously, and I know that he is looking out for the best for his patients. Belleville is well served by this wonderful professional.

I have been seeing dr smith for years. First for my mental health as i experienced trauma in my youth. He seemed good at first, like he had options for me which was nice. After a decade of seeing him (for other reasons also) i notice he has the same 1 or 2 drugs he leans on and if it isnt working it is something that i am doing, not the medication. I cannot say he is not a good family doctor, just not my preferred care provider regarding mental health. My main concerns with him, is actually with the office he works out of. Kathy seems very irritated and rushed every time i talk with her. But even that seems funny to say because it seems like NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE! I cannot think of a time where i have had my call answered on the first 2 or 3 attempts. I understand people are busy, but at what point is the responsibility put on the office to provide ‘accessible’ health care?

Not keen on going to doctors or hospital, for any thing, so I rarely do. (less than once a year) Always get very tense and anxious, knowing I need to go, to the moment it's over. Had a female dr before Dr Smith but she left the practice.
I used to be on a prescription for thyroid, that I had to go and get renewed each year but I weaned myself off of it. I walk..it's across town...about $35 by cab, round trip and then around that much again, to get the blood work done. I asked the receptionist to move my yearly appointments to spring (2mths more) and she said she wouldn't and that I would have to start coming once a month. So not fond of the reception, she is always snarky. Dr Smith is totally opposite, he helps one feel more at ease, explains things well....Doesn't push things on you, you don't want. Unless he has changed in the last year or 2..... I think he is a great doctor. He has always been able to help me and my family. BTW: Phone when they first open, or you are not likely to get thro' the rest of the day. IMO the dragon lady 'takes the phone off the hook' a lot....been in the waiting room for long waits and hardly seen her on the phone.

I have had dr smith for years. He’s a great man and doctor. I have a very complex heath. If he didn’t know or wasn’t sure he would go and look it up. He has helped me in many ways. Wouldn’t ask for another doctor, even if I could.

Dr. Smith has been a wonderful Dr. I have had since he started here in Belleville. He’s very knowledgeable and points out concerns for preventative care, as I tend to slack on these... my own fault, but glad he advises me of what could happen as any caring Dr would do.
I have not had a problem getting an appt. Which I barely call, because I don’t go to the office often and only when I have to. The staff is always very friendly and supportive.
Thank Dr. Smith and staff... keep up the good work. And know your appreciated. I’m sure you don’t hear it enough.

Dr. Smith has taken my wife on for her palliative care. Had he been her doctor all along, I doubt things would have been ignored and timely testing would have found the cancer in early enough to have prevented this, now terminal, situation. If all doctors were even close to this one, these sites would not be needed
Thank you, Dr. Smith, for all your help and support!

I have seen this doctor only once and once was more than enough. He gave me a prescription for a problem I was having but when I went to the pharmacy I discovered it was a totally different medication than we'd discussed. I went back to his office and his receptionist was very understanding. She talked to the doctor and came back with another prescription. The pharmacist told me this one was correct but the strength he prescribed was way out of line. The pharmacist corrected the error and filled it properly. Thank goodness pharmacists are taking a more active role in patient care.
