At the age of 31 I would have never thought in a million years that I would have gotten braces at this point in my life. Not only was it a financial risk but from my youth years on all I had heard were horror stories about having braces. With the recommendation of my dentist (Dr. Schlesinger of Black Mt. Dentistry) that I use one San Diego’s top adult/kids orthodontist (Dr. Thomas of Poway Braces) and I’m extremely grateful that I did! Dr. Thomas and staff are good people and I always look forward to my visits and the fresh baked cookies too. With that being said I am happy to report that my teeth are moving nicely and the whole process has been way easier that I could have imagined. Financially they allowed me to finance my brace through the office with a low easy monthly payment and the NEW Damon Braces have minimized my office visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Thomas and his team to any one looking for braces for themselves or their kids. John S San Diego, Ca

Dr. Thomas and his team did an outstanding job on my teeth (I'm an adult). He is kind, gentle, and listens to your concerns, and explains everything well so you know what to expect. His office is well run, very neat and clean, and no long wait times. His prices were more then fair, friendly staff, and as a bonus he's got a great sense of humor and makes you feel comfortable. I highly recommend him for your children, or for adults, like me.

After my last visit I discovered the horrible truth, doctor Thomas was indeed lacking in honesty and care. After 7 years my top retainer broke, I came in for a new one, to my surprise, I then needed top and bottom retainers.. I did not want to believe it, but while sitting in the back getting fitted for new ones I over heard the doc saying well, now we will make pay roll now, (laughing).I thought, this cannot be happening. I also was getting fitted for a crown at the time and they insisted that I get retainers now (using them only for one week) $235.00, and will have to get fitted for a set of new ones after the crown..he said with such a smirk, "I'll only charge you for half on the 2nd. pair.. WHAT?? Not to mention the assistant while removing the old glue on the broken retainers carelessly did not suck out all of the glue which lodged into a molar and infected it causing me great pain! He then was soliciting positive internet reviews by handing out flyers to his patience!

I was so impressed by what the doctor was able to accomplish in a short time with my daughter's teeth. We had spoken to other doctors and Dr Thomas had the best price and did an excellent job. The office was very accomodating with our schedule and I really appreciated that our visits always ran on time. A wonderful experience and I will bring my other children here as well.

I was 54 years when I went to Dr. Thomas, and wore braces for 9 months. My overall experience was very positive. His office is exceptionally well run, with his staff friendly and well supervised. They were right on time for every visit. At the end of 9 months I was exactly where I expected to be at the beginning, with no surprises. I also observed how Dr. Thomas and his staff interacted with other patients, which was always professional and knowledgeable. I saw a lot of satisfied people-- including myself!

His assistants are nice but Dr Thomas... well...you get what you pay for. He is not a type of orthodontist who listens to the patient. At least that was true in my case. I agree with the review that says he is a very egoistic doctor. And he definitely shaved down my teeth way too much.
