I have been Dr. Jain's patient for about 10 years, and am very satisfied. He is willing to listen and discuss all my concerns, and at the same time seems very efficient. He has recommended some preventative medicine changes in lifestyle for me that really helped. I like it that he doesn't prescribe meds unless he believes they will improve things.

This is a review for the Dr. Vivek Jain at Santa Clara, not the one in Concord. Dr. Jain is absolutely excellent. I have been his patient for over 10 years and have enjoyed his very personable bedside manner. He does not like to prescribe meds unless absolutely needed and encourages patients to get healthy through preventative means. He is thorough, knowledgable and does not rush his patients. I would highly recommend him!

I found Dr Jain very friendly, patient, thorough, and willing to listen and go through each of my concerns in detail with me. His nurses are also very friendly and proficient. His staff took pains to follow up with me to get me test results at lightning speed.

Being as an Indian immigrant software professional to this country I chose this Indian origin doctor which normally most Indians do. I really don't know why. He asked me go for routine cholesterol test, and offered me medicine (Niaspan 1500mg). I resisted for 1 year and improved my HDL but couldn't improve much (increased from 21 to 24, and 24 to 27 instead of min 40). When I didn't improve the numbers, he asked me to take Niaspan 1000mg which I took for more than 4 year from 2003-07. As a result my liver affected a lot (ALT was 38). He never told me or stressed me to exercise a lot; he didn't even refer me the nutritionist (I myself asked once after 2 year of taking med, and he approved). Though he is supposed be specialized in lipid profile, I guess anyone can do a better job as a doctor than he does to the patient. What he could have done: 1. Asked patient to do cardio for an hour a day. 2. Lose weight 3. Refer them to Nutritionist before offer any Med and play with thier health.
