Dr. Nishida cared for me as a high risk pregnancy and did the best job in carrying for me and knowing what was best for me and baby. I was miscarring but thanks to him My daughter Maliyah is a miracle baby. Thank you so much. I thank God for you and all your support and help through my pregnancy through the very end. Clarissa.

What a great doctor!!!!! My visit with Dr. Nishida was extremely wonderful. He explained everything in detail, was thorough and kind. In short, Dr. Nishida made my day/weekend. He will be my OB/GYN physician from now on. I would gladly recommend Dr. Nishida to my family and friends. Kudos to Dr. Nishida......keep up the GREAT bedside manner.

Dr. Gary Nishida can be a big old pill but it's because he cares. He and I did not see eye to eye at first on the discussion of my fibroid tumors but he did listen to what I had to say and helped me get rid of those tumors. In my humble opinion, when a doctor takes extra time to talk with you, laugh with you, disagree with you and in the end he is right, well that's the doctor for me. He also has great staff of professional ladies that keep his office running smoothly. I currently live in Sacramento, California. I drive and will continue to drive to Oxnard to see Gary. He is the last of a dying breed of good doctors. He cares, he listens and he can fix the problem. We need many more like him - and yes, he does need to work on his bedside manner at times, but it works for me. If a patient does not like his frank words then I say go where you will get your ears tickled and the truth not told to you. There are plenty of doctors like that but thankfully Gary is not one of them.

I have delivere two babies with Dr. Nishida. There are many reasons I chose to I back to him for my second delivery. His staff is friendly and on top of things. You never have to worry that you will not get a call about test results and the women at the front desk is very organized. Also, of you call with a question Dr Nishida always gets back to you withing a couple of hours. He is usually on time, and doesn't rush you out if you have questions. His office is also clean. As far as his bed side manner, Dr Nishida can be a bit of a know it all, but that's pretty common for doctors. He is a bit old school but will listen to you if you are firm on something. As with any doctor sometimes they need a reminder that this is YOUR pregnancy and you should have some say in things as long as you are not endangering your baby or yourself.

I did not go back to Dr. Nishida. He was very rude to me. He is cynical and thinks he knows it all. He made some comments to me, which I took as discriminatory/****, when I questioned something about a medication, which clearly read some risks. He said “that is not true, bring me the label. I bet that was due to English not being your first language.” I brought him the label to show him exactly what I was talking about and stated my inconformity with his comments. He agreed that what I had read was correct. I later sent him a letter stating what had happened. He called me by phone when he got the letter and said that he didn’t care what I thought. He said that I was not the first or the last to disagree with him, and that he still had a job. He was very unprofessional in the manner that he treated me, plus, as far as I know, you need to respond to people in the way they communicate with you. If I sent a letter, he should have responded the same way, not with a cynical phone call.

Dr. Nishida is a great doctor! He was always gentle and knowledgeable at all of my appointments for my first child. He always made sure I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and always reassured me that my baby was good. He always made sure he told me how the baby was doing and how big she was, which i found out most doctors don't tell you!! And when I went back for my 6 week check-up, he made sure I didn't go on any type of birth control that would hurt me or my chances to have another baby! I will definitely go back to him for all my pregnancies!

Words can not express the gratitude I feel for Dr Nishida. He saved me and my baby's life, after an extremely high risk pregnancy in 2007. Dr. Nishida goes WAY beyond being a Doctor, and is commited to being there FOR YOU. He takes however much time YOU NEED at EACH appointment. He's very conversational, & listens to your feelings & works with your personal beliefs. I spent many nights at both CMH and St. John's during my pregnancy. We ran into some trouble with the hospital staff at St. John's. They were taking too many days to follow through with one of Dr. Nishida's orders for me. When Dr. Nishida found out, he was furious. He accepts failure from no-one! And being his patient, that is the very best kind of Doctor you can hope for! He had the hospital's Chief of Staff (& all others involved) there outside my room within 5 minutes! He delt with the situation politely, & with firmness. His relentless efforts throughout my pregnancy resultded in a fullterm healthy delivery.
