Still waiting for a surgical appointment almost 2 weeks after seeing Dr. Rumana. He is an excellent surgeon, but has no bedside manner. His scheduling department needs a lot of improvement. I would recommend him as a surgeon, but you will need a lot of patience in dealing with some of his staff. They really don't seem to care.

Although I put 5 stars for punctuality, I was called back in a timely manner, talked to the nurse who showed me my mri and what the problem was but before dr rumana could get to me he had an emergency surgery which they said would be 45 min to 1 hr but he would see me and another person so we waited. Yes it went over an hr but if I had to have emergency surgery I'd want him to do the same for me. He came back in talked over different things I could do but I'd already done most before so we are going in for surgery on July 27th for L4-5 infusion and internal implantation. Anything to let me walk or stand without pain. I will comment again afterwards. Will be in lumbar brace for 3 mths. He was very nice, answered any questions I had and was not rude, disrespectful or anything, staff was awesome. I know there will be pain from the procedure but that will go away, anxious to be free of pain of the lower back.

Dr. Rumana performed an ACDF on my C5-6 and C6-7 on June 1, 2015. I was very satisfied with surgery and with follow-up. He does dictate quite a bit when you are in the room with him, but he is still very attentive and answers questions. Not very personable but he is brilliant when it comes to his expertise. So I would much rather have a competent physician than a rambling quack.........

I started seeing Dr. Rumana in November of 2013 for Pseudotumor Cerebri. After that one visit he was operating on me two weeks later to save my eyesight and to relieve pressure off of my brain. He placed a VP Shunt. I had another operation March of 2015 and will be having another on May of 2015. He has been nothing but helpful. He is working diligently trying to save my sight and my life. At first I was not fond of his bedside manner, however that changed after I had a talk with him about it. His assistant Abby is AMAZING!! I love her. The staff at the front desk can go. I'm sorry some of you had a terrible experience but in my opinion he is a great doctor. He listens to my concerns and we talk them out then decide our next plan of action. I would NEVER go to another surgeon for my rare condition.

If you want Patch Adams see if the local pediatrician is accepting new patients or rent a circus clown. If you want a competent surgeon ask to see Dr. Rumana. There's a reason the waiting room is crowded and I'd much rather have this guy working on my spine than someone who has a great bedside manner but doesn't know what they're doing. If surgery isn't going to help you then obviously there's nothing much he can do for you. Maybe he can get a jar of lollipops as consolation prizes?

Was referred to Dr. Rumana for neck and back pain after physical therapy did not work. Waited over an hour to see him and once I did see him, he was only in the room for about 20 minutes. Did not seem to take my concerns seriously. Quickly reviewed my MRI but did not explain his observations. Seemed irritated by questions period. Would not recommend going to him if you want a doctor who will actually take the time to help you. Needs bedside manner training ASAP.

I'm not surprised by the comments regarding Dr. Rumana. He's not talkative or extremely empathic, however he is brilliant, and that's what I wanted for my surgery. Fantastic experience. I was so impressed with the entire TMH Surgical team. Dr. Rumana is a neurosurgeon, the best, so what else could we want.

I waited over an hour to see Dr. Rumana. He was very rude. He did not look at my x-ray or second MRI. He spent about 10 minutes with me, checked my reflexes and bent me sideways. He said he didn't know what was wrong and that I could continue going to the chiropractor or get another MRI. If I needed surgery, I would not want him to be my doctor.

I know there always has to be someone to complain on these pages, but I would and have recommended Dr. Rumana over and over again. He operated on my C3-4 after someone hit me head on in a car, and years later, in 2004 or 2005, he operated on my L5-S1 and the hernation and also did a fusion where I had too much space in between my disks. I didn't have to crawl to the bathroom anymore after the surgery. My quality of life was new again and the bones and new bone cadavor fused terrific! The healing afterward is alot of pain and the back brace was no fun, but he fixed the CORE of my body. A tree can't grow without it's roots and function, so your body's core has to be functional or you just exist! Dr. Rumana changed my life in a positive way!
