I have been seeing Dr. Steven Johnson for over 10 years. I find his staff to be very professional and cheery. I admit that I certainly do not look forward to my visits (necessary evil) but it's nice to see regular upgrades to equipment and appears to keep up with new technology and techniques. Dr Johnson is friendly, thorough and has an extremely gentle touch. It looks like his office is growing, but I was happy to see one of his long time hygienists too....she is awesome! :)

I first attended Dr.Steve Johnson Clinic 2019 with an emergency situation,Dr. Rafael Marroquin and his assistant were very thorough and solved my issue . I have since been attending Nicole the Hygienist and find her very knowledgeable and being as I am a nervous person normally when attending the dentist she has succeeded in putting me completely at ease for the first time in many years.
I required a very recent procedure and I was attended to by Dr, Steve Johnson and his assistant once again I went in feeling anxious and immediately he put me at ease, I relaxed after a couple of minutes and therefore on my second visit had absolutely no anxiety before or during my procedure. As a senior I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to find such a wonderful Dental Clinic, I no longer feel nervous going to my dental appointments and the staff are always very supportive as soon as you enter the door. I would recommend Dr.Steve Johnson and his Clinic to anyone who is in need of Dental care.

I havent made it to get a apt. due to the simple fact Im new to Kelowna and looking for a dentist closeby to where I live. I asked one of the woman who was working behind the front desk if they take patients on Social Assistance. The woman said no and told me to go to the Gospel Mission and also told me there is hardly any dentists taking people on Social Assistance in Kelowna. Im sorry but I felt I was really looked down due to im on Social Assistance.

Dr. Johnson did an amazing job with my smile. My veneers were everything I expected. The price was right and I appreciated the extra treatment included as well. The receptionists were kind, understanding and accommodating. Mrs. J Chamberland.

My husband and I will no longer be going to this dental office. I have seen Dr. Johnson as well as the other dentists he’s had practicing in his clinic for 3 years, and my husband has been seeing them for the past year. But we are now dissatisfied with the dental work we’ve received.

Every time my husband walked through those doors the front desk staff told him about the amount of coverage he had left for the year and was given a list of recommendations on how to use the coverage. He explained he had some tooth sensitivity and was given the option to solve the issue by filling the tubules that cause the sensitivity. Long story short, after about 5 visits trying to correct the sensitivity my husband now has a cracked tooth that needs a crown and possibly a root canal(the tooth they were working on). We know there is a possibility that the tooth may have cracked on its own but after several applications of acid to the tooth (part of the procedure to try and fix the sensitivity) we can’t help but feel like it may have been damaging enough to compromise the tooth and cause the crack.

On top of all of this, he no longer has any dental coverage left for the year because he took them up on their recommendations to have things like a night guard fitted (what caused the sensitivity). So we are now half way through the calendar year and my husband needs a $2300+ procedure and can’t chew on that side of his mouth. Not to mention he’s been dealing with increased tooth pain for 4 months now.

He trusted their advice and did the procedures recommended because he thought ‘they’re the professionals!’ And I had always been satisfied with my experiences with the office so there was an added level of trust. Well, needless to say, we definitely don’t trust them anymore. It’s disappointing when you want to trust a professional health care practitioner, yet you find out they’re not concerned about your health and just want your money.

Lastly, you can tell that the fast turnover of staff has the entire clinic in a state of chaos. It was something I was able to overlook when I was satisfied with the work done, but does raise concerns when assistants don’t seem to know what chemicals and products to prepare for the dentist and you can see and hear the frustration the dentists have with the assistants.

Dr. Steve Johnson is a highly skilled dentist and also has a great sense of humor and is very amicable . I recently had some complex work done including a new bridge and several crowns. This work was time consuming and required several appointments but I am more than happy with the results and must say that he always took the time to explain exactly what was required and always made me feel completely at ease. A very good dentist and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is new in Kelowna or wishes to change dentists. I also found the office staff friendly and helpful. Glenda P.
