Look people if you're looking for a great doctor you need look no further. If you want to find a doctor that listens Dr. Combs is it! I would trust her with my life. She will go out of her way to answer any and all questions you may have. I'm not sure why some of the other reviewer's have stated that she never called them back. Whenever I leave a message with her office staff she typically calls me by the end of the day. She's not going to call you within five minutes! She is a doctor and is busy . Some people have said that she can be a little too quick to write a prescription. I find that she will work with you to find a medication that is right for you. Just give her a chance and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Excellent bedside manner.

I like Dr. Combs as a person, but I feel as though she is much more interested in talking than listening. In addition, the office staff there is unfriendly and unresponsive. The breaking point for leaving her office was my annual physical which lasted a grand total of 5 -10 minutes. Several procedures were supposed were supposed to be scheduled as a result of the visit but her staff just never got around to it, even after I called twice.

Like another review I read, my chart was closed also without them telling me. I now need to find a new female primary care Dr. which isn't easy. I was not impressed with the services anyway, not very prompt and they didn't keep my chart up to date.

Dr. Combs is a good doctor. She takes the time to listen to you (which is why she is frequently late for appointments) and is willing to look for alternatives to medication, if that's your preference. However, the CVFP office staff leave a lot to be desired. They consistently make it difficult to make an appointment, even for a brief consult. They will not ask the doctor or her nurse to call you back in response to questions, and are consistently rude on the phone. I like Dr. Combs a lot - I've been going to her for 15 years - but the CVFP office staff are driving me to look for another doctor's office that has front line staff that actually care about and respond to the patient's needs.

Dr Combs and her nurse Brenda are awesome!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I have been seeing her for quite some time. She is very compassionate and answers any and all questions that you ask. She always greets you with a hug and a smile. Go Dr. Combs and Brenda!

Dr. Combs is really the only doctor I have seen consistently in Lynchburg. I'm not sure how to find a better doctor so I've stayed with her for now.

As others have said, she is very quick to hand out prescriptions. She would rather treat the symptoms than find the cause. She has ordered every test that I've asked for (which is more than some doctors will do) but she never contacts me to explain the results. Even when an issue comes up with them. There is only so much you can learn from google. It would be really nice if she could take more time to inform patients. She is in and out and does no more than she absolutely has to.

Dr. Combs is the best family doctor we have have had anywhere in the US. Dr. Combs is caring, helpful, accurate in her diagnoses, and a true advocate for our health care. We plan on using Dr. Combs as our primary care provider for the foreseeable future.

My family has had Dr Combs as our physician for many years now. My husband has not been to the office though for several years. We had found that his BP has been up lately and when he called for an appointment, we were told (rather rudely) that he had been "purged" from the system and was no longer a pt. He received regular medication refills and has spoken by phone with her a little as 6 months ago. Not sure how he can be "purged" with no notice since they are still refilling medications. We were told in no uncertain words, that no one in that office would see him. That seems like physician abandonment to me. We have put up with long waits and too much "Chattiness" from Dr Combs and now for his office staff to act like this is unexcusable. The person who was so rude was a receptionist and the Office Manager refuses to talk to us. Needless to say, my whole family is looking for another physician!
