Dear Dr. Miklos and everyone in the office who took care of me... Amanda, Danielle, Sarah, Ashley and I apologize to anyone that I have missed.
You all had one big factor in common, your compassion and dedication to your job and the patients.Dr. Miklos, the minute I spoke with you on the phone last year, I knew things were going to be different, I just could tell in your voice and in your heart that you were different. You were going to be the one who might be able to help me. Your compassionate, your knowledge and your dedication came out in your soft nature and how you listened to me and did not rush me along. You did not make me feel (one more time) that I was crazy and there was nothing wrong me and this relentless pain was in my head, that I felt in my pelvis, abdomen, back, buttock, hip perineal area. etc. Rather you listened to me without interrupting me. And better yet did not tell me, sorry I cannot help you. I have been to so many doctors who would not touch me or listen to me with a ten foot pole. My very sweet gyn who I have seen for over 40 years and knew of my pain was so frustrated herself that she could not help me. She did not know what to do. She would have done anything she could have if she were capable. She actually cried one day with me. She also gave me this book with affirmations that she found helpful when her brother had passed away. I can't wait to tell her the mesh is out. Anyway, I finally was able to fly to Atlanta from Massachusetts and meet Dr. Miklos who was everything I imagined he would be when I had talked to him. He was so knowledgeable, compassionate and what an artist. He drew everything of the female anatomy and everything he believed was going on with me. And, he drew what he thought the problem was. He explained what he thought I needed for surgery, examined me and the next day I went to surgery for 5am. Prior to my surgery, he came in and reassured me that he had this and not to worry about a thing. He had my back.
Next morning when I woke up, he was there telling me he felt good about the surgery and just to follow all the post op instructions. I also have been checked on 1 or more times a week to see how I am feeling and given encouragement and education. I am 2 weeks post op and I believe in my heart, I am going to me healed. He was able to get what was left of the mesh as he told me he was going to.
I have had the door slammed on my face by so many doctors, I was beginning to loose my faith in the medical profession and I am a registered nurse. But not any more, Dr. Miklos worked his magic and I want to scream out with joy to all those suffering as I have. And to share that there are doctors who really care for their patients and go that extra mile to make sure the patients know they are being heard. He is a gem. And I will never forget his kindness and compassion to a girl that had been beat down after 17 years of dealing with this. I am 63.5 years old and never thought I would feel good again. I know this is morbid and my family would get upset when I would share this but that is how much this mesh had beat me down. I actually thought I would die before I had this mesh removed. My hats off to Dr. Miklos. He is everything I hoped he would be. Even taking a call over the weekend and acting like it was no big deal and that I was his patient and that I came first. And, one more thing, I must mention Sarah, his medical assistant. She is the sweetest person who has really encouraged me along post op. She has made calls and emailed several times to check in on me and let me know that I am still a patient and they will always be there for me. I so appreciate her encouragement and knowledge post operatively. She has been a blessing as well. You are all such a "Great Team" And there are miracles in this world. I was given one on May 24, 2022, down in Atlanta Georgia. I hope someday I can return and let those wonderful people know I am feeling so alive again. I thank all of you again and again and again.
