Dr. West performed my physical and found ovarian cancer. He immediately sent me to Dr. James Freeman. I am a 17 year cancer survivor thanks to God and these two excellent doctor's.

I found Dr. West after a somewhat negative experience with one doctor (over a 3 year period) and a very negative experience with another doctor (over a 3 year period). Dr. John E. West has been my doctor for a similar period of time. Wow, what a difference. He has offered me nothing but a professional demeanor and a respectful manner. He is obviously knowledgeable and skilled in his field, but manages to communicate with his patients without a condescending manner. I have also found his staff to be professional and polite. Oh, yes - He does stay pretty busy, and it can take a long time to get an appointment for a physical. Better book well in advance. That says something about how his other patients feel about him, also. This has been a good professional relationship, doctor to patient, and I am pleased. Thank you, Dr. West.

Horrible experiences! Dr. West seems like nice man but... Who doesn't know that a fever meanings there is an infection inside?? I had a fever for 6 days before going to the doctor he felt my stomach and sent me to the ER to have a CT scan. $2000 and 5 hrs later he called to tell me i was passing a very small kidney stone to take advil and rest then rushed of the phone without allowing any of my questions. At this point it was my fault for not seeking proper medical attention but i trusted him, he was my doctor. Well a week later im back with 103 - 105 fevers nothing will keep the fever down. He tells me " im stumped" I asked for a blood and urine test. and of course I have very bad full blown kidney and a bladder infection! if he would have simply done those test to start with I could have been saved a lot of pain, worry, sick days at work, and money.how can a doctor not see that a fever for 6 days is the result of an internal infection?? That stumps me!

I really like Dr West. I really love Mr Pettay. But I do not like the nurse practitioner Mrs. Bertrum. She seem to not listen to you and is in a hurry. If I have to see her I will not go to the doctor or I go to another doctor. I wish they would replace Mr Pettay with someone that can help Dr west.

I see Mr. Pettay the Nurse practitioner at his office & he is wonderful my husband & I very much like him, we have never seen Dr. West. Be aware there is a nurse at the office that has been there for long time that is very rude & mean & is horrible at taking blood.

Dr. West diagnosed me with liver disease in 2002. He has always been very warm, very caring, and has taken all the time I've needed. One memory that really stands out: My husband always went with me to discuss problems and treatments. He died unexpectedly between visits. Dr. West came in the exam room, looked around, and said, "Hey, where's Chuck?" I'll never forget the look of utter horror on Dr. West's face when I told him Chuck had died. The man cares about his patients, and cares deeply. He's absolutely excellent all around.
