I have been a patient of Dr Simon's for nearly two years. As with the (former) patient that wrote a very comprehensive review dated 10-25-15, I too was initially very impressed with Dr. Simon. Eventually, I came to the same conclusions as the 10-25-15 reviewer. Dr Simon is guilty of every on of the sins that reviewer attributed to him. He is rude and while very intelligent has an ego that keeps him from being the very good doctor he could have and should have become.
I will say that not all of his staff are terrible. I have seen several of his nurse practitioner's and finally found one that was all that I felt comfortable talking to honestly, which is generally to be avoided with his staff. I have finally decided to go elsewhere. All of the negative comments made about Dr Simon and his staff, excepting the one N.P. I have seen are consistent with my experience. At one time I referred others to his clinic. For the past year or more I have told all that inquired to never go there.
I believe, as with others, that Dr. Simon is in it only for the money. He schedules appointments with his N.P's every 15 minutes, just enough time to take your vitals and write prescriptions for another month's supply of medication.

Arrogant doctor. Uncaring staff. No one returns phone calls, even for urgent manners. Dr talks AT you, not TO you, and really doesn't want to hear anything you have to say. He will rudely interrupt you while you're talking. Seems he cares about making money and traveling to conferences, but not about the patient or their best interests. You are at his mercy and if you object to anything, it is strongly suggested that you seek another doctor. Pathetic bedside manner. Run the other way and find a compassionate doctor instead.

I've been seeing him and his nurse for years and it's a great place, if you are not a problem to them then they are awesome to you... They are the ones with their necks and licenses on the line. It's nearly impossible to find a doctor who practice pain management with anything other than blocks as it is. They are the real deal, treat them with respect and they will respect you

whole office is a bunch of flakes who missed the service oriented courses in medical school. no one answers the phone. Serious. No one is answering nurses or schedule phones. If you don't walk out with the correct prescription it could be a month before they respond.

I've been a patient for many years. Initially, my perception was that Dr Simin was spot on and took time to delve into the Genisis of my pain. As time went on I was refered on to the nurse practitioner. It seemed proper at first until it became a picy to do urine tests. No problem for me , I don't misuse my medication, in fact, sometimes I elect not to take one of the stronger opiates because I may not require it or I may be engaged in activities that would require I not take it for safety purposes. Well that resulted in a U A that can back negative. So I was essentially accused of not taking meds to sell them. I was appauled. In order to adhere to their protocol I took the med even when I really didn't need it. This results in a special visit with thur resident psych and Dr Simon. .... Because they need to ensure you aren't abusing drugs or selling them. I was insulted. During the conference with simon , he list focus reeat throughout the consult. Took phone calls and began speaking on the dictaphone.
What I find remarkable is they wave other patients files laying about so anyone can glimpse them. Simon goes in the hlway and begins talking about patients, referring to one as having the appearance of a beached whale. In fact, over the course of the years I've heard numerous remarks not only by him but also his staff. The staff are friendly on the surface but start asking questions or deviate from their protocol( unknowingly) and pay hell! You are now a drug seeking moron in their estimation. You can hear them out at their desk in the hall. In order to remain on whatever medication protocol that is working, you need to shut up, not ask questions, smile and make small talk. In fact, at one juncture when I asked questions, I was treated as a criminal and told" it's a privlage to come here"!!!
They are rude and they do everything the others described.ive tolerated it for years just to be able to continue. Then , they do all kinds of things to get extra I surance billings and money from patients. I began researching the medications I was given in more depth and reading comaints on line ... I thought I've been a sucker. They bill my insurance for me to be seen 5 min to get several migraine meds and allergy meds. They don't do any physical or real lab work. They are often overbooked and late. Dr Simon while a Dr that does lectures all over the country is a flake. I recall how he td me how funny he thought it was to take a bottle of frozen water through the check in boarding line at the airport. This was after 911 when liquids were not allowed on board. So he froze water to have conflict and debate with TSA authorities. This is oppositional and de isn't behavior . But he's a Dr !!!! So he thinks it's funny.
He is a peddler of drugs that are those that he represents such as a variety of pharmaceutical companies. Their office is allowed to make mistakes and turn around and narcissisticly blame the consumer or client. But you make an error either mistakenly or intentional , and you can be fired as a client. That flies in the face of Dr Dimons presentions with several other pain specialists and professors that have a PowerPoint and discussion available on the Internet which can be googled.
I'm sure he was bullied as a child given his mean spirited and arrogance. Then you have several of the office staff who are equally as disgruntled and treat everyone like a drug seeker.
I'm sure Simons brilliant but then many sociopaths are! And they surround themselves with equally ridiculous characitures of nurses. I do t think several of them can get hired somewhere else with their dismal attitude and skill for character assassination.
It seems it's all good to just write scripts time and time again, but when the DEA or whomever comes down on them for merrily writing away, they punish the patient. The patients often have no idea what they are taking could be too high s volume because one has chronic pain, Dr Simon says is the leading authority, snd you feel better. Then you find out they are over prescribing.
Dr Simon has become wealthy with this scam but I'd say many of his clients aren't cspable of accessing higher athiritie a or medical boards, drug company ceo's etc.....
I think it's time this charlatan is exposed

I am pleased with the treatment, I have been going there for a number of years .The only thing that bothers me I must be seen every month this will go on for the rest of my life.they
must practice defense medicine thanks to the bad press on the drug addicts that abuse the system, they are in the minority by far only few percent, we must all pay.

All of the negative comments written here are spot on!! Go so.ewhere else!! I am a nurse and have never seen such a horrible place! Dr. Simon just employees a bunch of nurse practitioners to write scripts for him to make him money! He is only in the office about once a month. I requested labs be done because I wasn't feeling g well. They drew my blood and for some reason the lab requisition was put on his desk because he had to sign it.the He was out of the office so it sat there for three weeks.I called repeatedly and was told it takes awhile for this particular blood work. Then when I called after a month they finally told me that the blood went bad!! Are you kidding me!! She thought it would make me feel better if she told me that my ins company would not be charged and I could come back and have it drawn again. This place is horrible!! Go somewhere else!!!!

I saw Dr. Simon on my first few visits, then was unceremoniously handed off to a nurse practitioner. I have been seeing this NP now for another several years, but she will NOT listen to any new issues, or will sympathize, but absolutely will not make any changes to your medications whether they work or not. After 5 years of the same medications, and advancing disc degeneration and increased pain-sorry-no change or increase in medication. I just think they should be allowed to have some input on our care, not just be prescription writers for Dr. Simon, who is very often out of town traveling and speaking at conferences. I have also been in the office with him when he stopped and took a phone call......from a PATIENT. He will give his cell phone number to a patient just so they can contact him after hours. He did fix a prescription on a Sunday when the pharmacist was able to get hold of him-his NP had written it incorrectly and I was out of an important med. If he is such a big bad, rude, off-putting grunt of a man and a terrible doctor, why did he call my pharmacist back on a Sunday afternoon? I have missed getting a correct script during my visit with an NP, and when I realized it I called them and they let me come by and pick it up-no appointment needed. I needed a non-narcotic salve for my pain and was almost 2 months out for my appointment-they didn't make me wait or make a sooner appointment-they wrote the script and let me come by and just pick it up. I go get early in the day appointments, I show up on time, I am courteous with the staff who greet me by name every time I come in, I pay my bills on time to make sure THEY get paid on time, and most importantly- I take the medications they prescribe the way they tell me to. Do I need to be proactive and make another appointment with Dr. Simon to get some adjustments to my meds made? Yep. That is on me.

Do yourself a favor if you are dealing and a doctor who knows what they are doing. Everything about this practice is terrible. I did find another doctor and it has made all the difference in my life. On my very last visit the words from one of his staff when I asked a question was what do you expect me to do in 15 minutes. That was after I waited over an hour to see her. Dr. Simon is very uninvolved. Only saw him once. Thought I had no options but go find another.

Dr. Simon office is a experience no person with pain should never go to. my very first appointment was disaster at it's highest level, the front office called me to come in at 10:15 am, which I got there alittle early to fill out the paper work. well 10:30 came around and I was still sitting in the waiting area 15 minutes past due for my appointment, so when 10:45 came around I went to the check in desk and the lady told me that I could been seen at 11:00, and on top of that she tried to charge me for so call lab work which was peeing in a cup $20.00 and if you don't have double insurance their copay to them was a additional $20.00, talk about a rip off, my advise to other's do not use this pain management facility at all, I thought all these comments were alittle over the top but experiencing first hand, they are telling the truth. go somewhere else for treatment.
