Arrogant and condescending. Talks a lot and will not listen. This was just my initial visit and I would never choose to be treated by this physician

DO NOT GO TO DR LANIGHAN! If you care about your health, go to another doctor.

I went to Dr Lanighan to remove a cyst from my right (dominant) hand. Surgery went fine. Post op was going fine until I injured my right hand. It felt like I had torn something and post injury I only had about 10% mobility in my right hand. I saw his PA the next day and she ordered me an MRI. 2 days later I had an appointment with Dr Lanighan and he completely dismissed me and was very defensive before I could even say a word and treated me like I was incompetent. After multiple times of me trying to explain to him that I can barely move my hand, he told me he was leaving the office. He originally told me recovery was 6 weeks but not said it's 6 months to a year (which is medically incorrect and malpractice).

He is extremely arrogant and has a God complex and does not care about patients at all. He should not be allowed to practice.

This doctor should be barred from practicing medicine. He is giving other surgeons a bad name with his totally unprofessional behavior and lack of empathy and compassion for his patients. I should know, I was one of his patients and when I tried to switch to a different surgeon, he refused to transfer my files, citing I have to see a neurologist first before he releases my files. This is totally unethical and unbecoming of someone who took the hypocritical oath.

I unfortunately have to agree with the other comments. He was dismissive, arrogant, and condescending. I met first with his midlevel, who suggested I have surgery, due to COVID, I was not able to have surgery. Once elective surgery was lifted, I went back and saw the doctor. He immediately walked and told me that he couldn't do anything for me and surgery was not needed. I explained that his midlevel told me a few months ago that I did, he replied, "No, she didn't, she wouldn't say that". Apparently, I am now a liar. He never touched my wrist. He asked why I was confused and when I reiterated what his midlevel told me, again I was basically called a liar and told me to continue wearing my brace and taking anti-inflammatory meds. I am 32, I should not have this issue. I would not recommend him.

I sought help due to constant pain and numbness in both hands, along with losing grip strength over time. I am a young adult. After testing, my results are inside the border of normal range. He told me that yes, I am going to hurt after doing strenuous activity with my hands.....what part of constant and getting worse over time did he block out from acknowledging? So I was left with no path forward.

Probably a great surgeon, if you can put up with being treated inferior and berated for speaking while in his presence. My in-office experience was a nightmare. Don't mistake pauses in his oratory as a chance to speak. You'll be very sorry. He attacks you if you interrupt him even once, and he takes it way too far, like he's in a bar brawl or tailgate shouting match. He will yell at you for being argumentative, accuse you of being rude. He actually walked out of the examination room until I "fixed my attitude", all for just saying during one of his pauses "well it is disappointing to hear the results of the MRI", when he paused. Unbelievable visit and I'll never go back to his practice again.

Horrible, condescending, absolutely no bedside manner. You should actually so a physical exam before making assumptions and offering a useless diagnosis

Had to wait over an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment time only for Dr. Lanighan to give a dismissive diagnosis in 2 minutes without even performing any kind of real examination. Keep in mind it was Northtowns Orthopedics that had me make the appointment with Dr. Lanighan in the first place after I visited their after hours clinic at the request of my primary doctor. Guess they just wanted to milk it for whatever they could get.

I have had 5 trigger finger surgeries, 1 Carpal Tunnel surgery, and a shredded Bicep repair by Dr. Lanighan. One of the best in the business.

It's been over 5 years but I finally believe I need to get this out. I tried to take this to court but he's tied so tight to the practices in my area, I couldn't find a local to take the case! This Dr. Is more than incompetent. I only tried to take the legal route bc what he did was horrific. The short of it - be had at my second last meeting showed me the x-rays, finally. It's showing over the 4 months I saw him, the screws instantly migrating to the joint until completely buried in the joint. 2 screws. He shows me this AFTER he ordered Pt. At Pt, with screws in joint, the therapy, in the words of the Cleveland clinic Doctor, OBLITERATED my wrist joint! I now have needed a subsequent surgery and mobility and pain are both problems. I recommend this Dr be run far away from. Not only wasS I affected but I found another patient, only 16 yrs old who was screwed up by the same doctor.
