Terrible experience in 2007. Dr. Araki is not a competent doctor. She did a biopsy of my uterus that was not needed and ultrasound and other tests that were not necessary.

Dr Araki is the worst Dr I've ever met in my whole life. I went to see her 2006 for pap smear. Result came back abnormal. First thing she said is," this is horrible you need a LEAP procedure immediately so i can cut out the abnormal cells". She didn't do a biopsy or anything further to examine me, she just decided she needs to do a LEAP surgery. I told her I would like to get a second opinion and then she said in that case you you can just change OB. She was extremly rude, doesn't have any bedside manner at all. She wanted to do unnecessary surgery to earn more money. I went to see another OBGYN, other doctor did coloscopy/ biopsy then told me not to worry, just a little abnormal cells, redo papsmear everg 6 months. Dont go see Dr Araki, she is the worst doctor I have ever met. She just want to earn extra money by doing unnecessary procedures.

I unfortunately had a very bad experience with Dr. May. I need to file a law suit against her. Can someone tell me which insurance she was covered by? Appreciate it.

I spoke with several of Dr. Araki's patients and all (3) have negative experiences with her. Dr. Araki recommended a hysterectomy which I had a second opinion on. The second opinion said a hysterectomy was not necessary. I confronted Araki with the second opinion and she said the second opinion was wrong and I should just change OB's if I didn't agree with her. I went for a 3rd opinion and was confirmed that a hysterectomy was not necessary. I changed OB's and my new OB is 100% better. Araki is incompetent or performing unnecessary surgeries.

I am so surprised at all the negative comments about Dr. Araki, but I'm going to chalk it up to the fact that people are more inclined to take the time to complain about poor service. I received the best and most thorough prenatal care from Dr. Araki, who took me in as a new patient with a pre-existing condition pretty late in my pregnancy. I appreciated the delicate balance of her providing good patient care and being firm, not arrogant or rude, to ensure that my health and that of my baby's were not compromised. Given the complications in my pregnancy, I always felt reassured that Dr. Araki had my health and best interest at heart. She delivered our healthy baby girl, and I am indebted to her for her care and service.

I had a very extended treatment of care with Dr. Araki following a miscarriage. There were many complications due to fibroids. She went above and beyond to follow up with me; often checking with me on weekends. My case was somewhat unusual bc I wasn't expelling post-miscarriage. I feel she was resourceful in finding any treatments that would be helpful. She does tend to side on medical procedures vs. waiting things out/ natural means. But after reading her reviews, I would be remiss to not post how wonderful she was to me during this very difficult time (both physically & emotionally). Although I've moved out of the area, I will always remember her care being both professional and caring. I get that some may see her as "cold" initially, but she is real (not fake) and warms up appropriately as you see her. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Araki and am grateful for her work with me.

i also had a horrible experience with dr araki. she misdiagnosed me and actually performed an unnessary surgery on me! she told me the pain i was experiencing during sex was vuvodynia, when in fact i had pelvic inflammatory disesase. she performed an operation on me, which turned out to be pointless and probably just contributed to my infection. i'm so upset i went to her and also she did not even conduct a follow up visit with me after my surgery as she was "out of the office."

Dr. Araki was truly terrible. At first she seemed really helpful and calm. Then when I hit 36 weeks, all of a sudden it was "When is your baby going to be born?" It got so bad that my BP rose terribly high each visit & she was always trying to get me to induce early. One time she sent me to the hospital, didn't show up for hours. I had gestational diabetes and was on a strict eating schedule but when I waited I wasn't allowed to eat or have water. It turns out everything was normal, but she never once answered the nurses' requests that I have food or water (for something like 4 hours). When I gave birth, I finally caved in around week 40 to induce. After an emergency c-section she didn't come to check up on me for over 24 hours. I wasn't washed or anything because they needed her approval. When she removed the bandages, she RIPPED them off. I had worse scarring from my bandages than I did from the surgery. If you want a c-section and a really unresponsive doctor, then she's for you.

I SAW DR ARAKI IN MARCH 2008 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY PAP CAME BACK ABNORMAL. SHE PERFORM A SERIES OF TEST, ALL WERE VERY PAINFUL. EVERY TWO WEEKS I HAD AN APPT FOR A DIFFERENT PROCEDURE, BIOPSIES AND ULTRASOUND. ALL TEST CAME BACK NORMAL NO SIGN OF CANCER, BUT YET SHE FELT THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG AND CONTINUED TO ASK ME TO SCHEDULE A COLONSCOPY. I SAW MY PCP AND SHE ASKED A SEIRIES OF QUESTIONS TO DETERMINE IF I NEEDED A COLONOSCOPY AND SHE FELT IT WAS NOT NECESSARY. MY LAST VISI TO DR ARAKI WAS IN JULY AND SHE SCHEDULED ME FOR THE "FINAL" PROCEDURE WHICH WOULD DETERMINE IF I HAD ANY SIGN OF CANCER IN THE UTERUS. WELL GUESS WHAT HER OFFICE CALLED ME A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE TO CANCEL AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE WAS OUT SICK FOR THREE WEEKS. TODAY, 9/30 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HER OFFICE, AFTER LEAVING A MESSAGE TWO WEEKS AGO AND WAS INFORMED THAT SHE IS NO LONGER AT THE OFFICE. COULD SOMEONE RECOMMEND A GOOD OB/GYN?

Wow...I had a great experience with Dr. Araki. She delivered my baby and was always very informative, professional, and caring at each appointment. She was always clear in giving me the facts and talking one-on-one, and I felt that both she and her staff were very friendly with each visit. I would use her again with my next pregnancy if it wasn't for the fact that I moved.
