My two daughters (3 & 6) have been patients of Dr. Hitner's since 1/06 and they adore him and his staff. He is a kind, friendly, caring and knowledgeable physician. His staff is spectacular -from the girls in the front to Marie the nurse. After being in various other pediatric practices, none compare to the care that my two girls get. We have had various situations and Dr. Hitner and his staff have always been on top of it. We rarely wait and when we do it is for an emergency patient, which is to be expected. It is very rare to find a friendly and efficient pediatric office and so far this is the best!

We had been with this doctor for a few years. We adored him until the last couple of years when we noticed that he was not paying close attention during routine visits. It is like all the rooms are going at once and the nurse and staff are shuffling along with them. Often our visit was interuppted by a staff member entering to ask the doctor a question about another child. We liked him but he is just too busy and too distracted. Quite honestly we worried that he might miss something important one day. We switched to a doctor that despite a very busy office, focuses intently on our children during their check-ups.

Dr. Jason Hitner is a wonderful doctor. He is always warm, friendly,& concerned. Dr. Hitner has a special way of making children feel comfortable. I never feel rushed out of the office but rather he patiently answers all my many questions and concerns. My daughter loves him, and we left our initial practice to follow Dr. Hitner because of his kind bedside manor & ability to make you feel at ease. There once was a situation of a delicate nature for my daughter, he handled it with the most amazing empathy & compassion. It was truely heartwarming & he made a very difficult & potentially uncomfortable visit easier to get through. This was 6 yrs. ago(my daughter is now 12)and I will contine to have Dr. Hitner care for her. We have since moved and although his office is a little bit of a distance now, it's well worth the trip for the wonderful care he provides. All on his staff are warm and personable as well.(There is also a large, new ,well lit parking lot)I highly recommend him.

I find Dr Hitner to be very thorough in his examinations. Always has the patients’ best interest, even at the cost of sounding condescending to the parents. Overall, I am more than satisfied with him and his staff. Unlike some reviewers, I do not feel a doctor has to experience all a persons trial and tribulations to be successful at treating them. That said, I don’t feel the lack of him having children effects the treatment he provides to children, nor do I find that to be a fair statement.

He was recommended by my OB and who brings his kids there so I thought he would be a good doctor. My OB is wonderful so I do not fault him for Dr. Hitner's issues. He is very condescending and I did not like his handling of my breast feeding problems. Since he is not a parent it makes sense that he might not understand what it is like. He kept pushing Enfamil DHA as a replacement when I started using a powder formula that cost our family a lot less. What he recommended is very expensive so finally my husband asked if he was paid to push this formula. He admitted that he does speak for it because he beleives in it. There should be no self-interest when taking care of babies! As far as smoking I find that ironic if it is true because he once wrote quit smoking on a presription and gave it to my husband. He is also away a lot and I always had to use the docotor that covered him. Dr. Apun. She is very nice, has twin boys and understands what it means to be a parent.

I am extremely pleased with Dr Hitner! He always answers all of my questions and makes us feel like we are the only patient in his office. He truly knows my children and they love him.He is an excellent, smart and caring doctor. I travel 35 minutes and I would travel further for the outstanding care he provides. His staff is always pleasant and professional. I wish there were more doctors like Dr hitner!

My son has been a patient of Dr. Hitner's for over three years, and initially I really was confident in him as a doctor. But over the past year I've felt very disatisfied in his overall care. My son was being treated for a reoccuring condition, and every time we went there it seemed like he didn't even remember seeing him for the same problem just a few weeks (sometimes days) prior. I think his practice has gotten bigger then he can handle, and therefore not only do you wait to see him but he rushes through the appointment sometimes leaving me more confused then I was when I arrived. I believe in a lot of his practices (non-mercury shots, limited antibiotics, etc) but I feel that he may have turned into just "another" doctor, and has left the concern and caring behind. I am currently looking to change doctors. It's unfortunate because I really think had Dr. Hitner continued on the path he was originally going he could have been an excellent doctor.

Dr. Hitner has to be one of the finest Doctors to come along in a while. This young Doctor has a great connection with the children that he sees. Both my sons (ages 7&8) have no problem asking him any questions, and they leave his office able to explain in their language. It's hard to find a Doctor that both parents and children like, but we found that match with Dr. Hitner!

While I think Dr. Hitner is nice, he is not a wonderful physician. He is young, and does not have children of his own, therefore is only text-book trained (so to speak). He never took my word as a mother seriously, and disregarded my instincts on many levels, which resulted in poor care for my daughter. He may be smart, but he needs to be open to listening to a concerned parent more, and not be so condescending.
