Dr Grossman doesn't listen. This resulted in the wrong procedure with unsuccessful results. I now see a new doctor to repair my knee. Grossman is too arrogant to listen, too unorganized to be effective and too set in his ways to treat you as an individual instead of a "knee". He is the worst kind of doctor - the kind who thinks that they know your body better than you and therefore your contributions are disregarded. Lastly, keep an eye on your bill for 'mistakes'. Better yet, don't go!.

On my first appt. was in the office 1 1/2 hours and maybe saw him 20 mins.Has a very odd sense of humor..never answered my questions with a direct response. One time he left the room for 20 mins.to see other pts. while I sat and waited for an injection. He told me I didn't have arthritis but I probably had a torn meniscus and gave me a knee brace, exercises, and a pain patch to place on my knee.I was to have an MRI and return. I called the office to request to see another MD in the group. When I saw Dr. Rizzo for the MRI results..I had serve osteoarthitis in my knee and was told not to wear the knee brace as it would cause more pain.He also said I would benefit from a series of special injections to give me time before needing a knee replacement.I would not recommend him to anyone..as a nurse I expect better care.

He saved my leg when I fell down my basement steps and fractured my femur, replaced my knee and will replace my other one very soon. He is rated by Castle Connolly as one of the best orthopedics in America, I trust him and enjoy his sense of humor.

Dr.Grossman operated on me four times. Each time I would go in, he would say I needed another surgery. I am now seeing a "Specialist". Needless to say, he never fixed my problem. A knee replacement, and still not fixed! Never takes the time to explain, just walks out the door as you are waiting for him to come back in, and he never does.

Dr. Grossman diagnosed a torn meniscus and sent me for MRIs. On the first visit he said I would probably need arthroscopic surgery. On the second visit after the MRIs were back, he said that the surgery was not necessary because I was feeling less pain and had more mobility in the knee. He said that osteoarthritis will occur in up to 33 percent of people who have this surgery, and that there was no way to tell if I would be one of them. We decided I'd continue to work my physical therapy and exercise (swimming & cycling). I appreciated that he didn't push the surgery. Dr. Grossman does have an unusual sense of humor, but if you go see him, just look past that, because he's trying to be personable. I happen to have a neighbor who is one of the nurses who works with him in the operating room, and she said that he's a competent surgeon.

I saw this guy 2 years ago for knee pain. After the first xray he declared that I had no arthritis in my knee but I had a torn meniscus. He scoped my knee and I did 4 months of physical therapy. Six months passed and I still had the same pain. I went back to him and he said it was probably arthritis. (in 6 months?)I had another MRI and saw him again. He reported that I had another torn meniscus. When I asked him how, I've only been doing PT for the past 6 months, he chuckled at me and said,"I must have missed that one", and then walked out the door. He didn't even give me a chance to ask what to do next. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
