This Doctor comes off as if he knows everything. He is externally arrogant. After I have my blood patch. I was in excruciating pain. I email him as I was told to do. (He e-mailed me back accidentally) I positive it was meant for the nurse. That I was an “opioid seeker.” I’m not even taking opioids. I would NOT refer my worst enemy to this Arrogant ass!I went to Stanford for help not to be treated so extremely rude!

He's only concerned about himself. He's arrogant, untruthful (he flat out lied many times to me about my case, his staff, & went out of his way to ensure that each of my visit notes included multiple falsities). A lot of his colleagues do not respect him , & are very vocal about this. I could go on & on about how this man is a huge liability & disservice to Stanford Healthcare & the patients served.

Dr. Carroll is the best pain management doctor out there. I went through many doctors before I finally saw him. He has wonderful bedside manner and spents a lot of time with me during my appointments, He is doing everything possible for me to avoid another surgery. I don't understand the other posts because he is wonderful. I have been through many doctors at the stanford pain clinic and have been living with pain for over 2 years. He is the only one that has given me any hope.

Nicest staff ever, but do not see him, he is a bad doctor, no be side manner, works in a lab most of the time compared to dealing with human beings on a case by case basis, understanding what brought them there and the best way to go forward. Very concerned with stroking his own ego.

Dr Carroll was stiff at first but he spent about an hour with me talking about my pain. I can't remember the last time that happened. I still have pain but I am 3 weeks into a new med which is apparently an older kind of nerve pain drug and I think it is helping. I will post again when I am sure. For me, my visit with dr carrol was really Good, don't know about the other stuff I read here after my visit

This doctor take the trophy handedly for the most arrogant, self centered and condescending person I have met. He belittled my pain and me in front of my family when I went to see him. DO not go to the Stanford pain clinic unless you see someone else.

Before my first procedure with Dr. Carroll he leaned over and said very softly --little by little we are going to eliminate your pain. He's good at anticipating and accepting the validity of a patient's concerns. Some of the phone clerks (not his responsibility, as he is at Stanford) can make you feel like you are not worth the trouble when you try to schedule an appointment. Its worth getting past them.
