I have had JRA since the age of 7. As an adult I saw Dr Worster and he was useless to me. My ped rheumy taught me how to handle my health issues, he educated me, used me as a teaching patient and made me part of the decision making from the start. So I am far from a clueless patient. But Worster treated me as such. Told me there was nothing wrong with me other than past damage then blamed the increased pain I had on my job. Yet over a year after leaving my job, I hadn't improved. Thankfully I moved away from Bloomington, found a better doc who diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. Treating it helped somewhat but not enough. I wouldn't send a sick animal to Worster, let alone a person. I've had at least half a dozen friends and family members who were also seen by him and I don't think I've heard ONE of them say anything good about him. He also told me the hairline fracture in my cocycx was due to a fall, when I'd not had a fall since my teens yet the pain was less than a year old. Now what sense would that make? It was actually that I had been dx'd with osteoporosis as a kid but because it was secondary to JRA, I was unaware of it. I had NEVER been on any steroids to cause it either. It was all JRA related. I was never on pred until my mid-20s. He was a jerk to one of my closest friends, and I have firsthand knowledge of that because I was at her side during her appt.
