I retired as an Officer (CDR) in the US Navy in 1992 and returned to my non-military hometown of North Wilkesboro, NC for a 2nd career. Dr Rathmell has been my civilian doctor since returning home, in addition to a VA Doctor in Winston Salem and a Cardiologist at Wake Forest, NC Baptist hospital in Winston Salem. I only have Outstanding remarks about Dr. Rathmell.... She is one of the most professional physicians I have ever been seen by in my 65 years; she has a very efficient staff and a notable empathy with her patients as well as an outstanding, up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in her profession. Really cares for patients; not only medically wise, but takes time to listen to other concerns of patient...Very soft-spoken and genuinely helpful in any other possible way. Goes more than the "extra" mile to help all her patients. We need more doctors as competent and caring as Dr. Rathmell.
