this office is fairly small but Dr McCracken and PA Nicole are great!

I have been going to Dr. McCracken for approximately 3 years and have only seen her once in 3 years, sometime I would like to see my PVP, I thoroughly like Nicole Cook but when she is unavailable, the staff seems to make very difficult for me to make arrangements to see Dr. McCracken.

I almost don't want to leave this review, because I'm afraid if I do that she will become even more busy than she already is now! I just love this doctor, she really has a heart of gold, loves her patients, takes a long time with them (which is why she is running late most days) and she is thorough, she also believes in the body's ability to heal itself naturally. I just can't say enough good things about her. I am so blessed to have found her, and I plan to start bringing my kids to see her as well. She is very open minded which is very hard to find in a doctor these days, she has no EGO and is just an all around wonderful person, her office is clean and a very friendly place. Her staff brought me warm herbal tea and a blanket when I was too cold while waiting on the doctor, it was like being in a spa! She is the best!

She "combined" wellness visit (which is a schtick of hers) with my 6 mo diagnostic chronic illness management visit w extensive lab tests to review. She coded all 18 lab tests/the visit as a "wellness visit". My insurance 100% covers dx testing. But only 500 wellness visit. total bill $2300, 500 covered. Anthem assured me they would pay 100% if the doctor would just correct & resubmit codes. I worked tirelessly through Dr. McCracken's billing office / maze, Even scheduled a sick visit just to see SM face-to-face to discuss it, and each and every time they lied to me saying that "Anthem refused to change the coding." This was an out and out lie. I had to pay in the end after battling for 12 long months, a ridiculous $1800 for a "wellness visit." I will never go to her again. It is awful what she did, it's coding improperly & refusing patient & insurance request to fix it, there must've been some financial gain for her, and it would've put most patients into bankruptcy.

Hands down the best GP on the peninsula. Dr. McCracken is everything anyone could want in a physician and more. She CARES about her patients, and she shows it.

Takes whatever time is necessary - is clearly more interested in the patient than anything else. Listens well. Always pleasant and puts a person in a better mood than when they came in.

I LOVE this Dr. She makes you feel like you are her ONLY patient. She is warm, friendly, the huggy, friendly,personable type. An average range diagnostician. I see her because I really like this lady and I come from Norfolk to see her in Newport News. A very long, irritating trip. Her punctuality is not great because she spends time with you.

Dr. McCracken is the kind of doctor that all doctors should aspire to be. She is kind, attentive and is genuine with her concern for your health. I travel 45 mins to see her and would travel hours if I had to.

Dr. McCracken is highly professional while also making you feel as if you are a part of her family. She is interested in YOU and is so helpful and patient when listening to your concerns. She takes time with you and will not just rush you in and out. I travel 20 miles to see her and it is worth it!

caring, attentive, knowledgeable physician who makes you feel 100% important to her. IF she doesn't know something she will research the area. I have a rare disorder and she has been the first MD who really listened to me and explored my complaints. She listens to you and treats the physical and the emotional side of your needs. Small practice that the MD and staff give you personal attention getting to know you.
