Dr Handelman did not listen to my concerns; he only treated me like a number. I felt worse after leaving his appointment. Also, he charges a lot of money; only caters to the rich. Dr Handelman’s admin staff are very rude and unhelpful. Avoid this clinic.

This man is a terrible doctor. His empathy level is that of a psychopath. How did he even gain acceptance to medical school and psychiatry? All Dr Handelman cares about is money. Avoid him at all costs. His administrative staff is no better.

Absolutely loved this doctor! Listened to me and my concerns, understanding and gave me options. Had no expectations but he was outstanding. Thank you Dr!

I saw Dr. Handelman from about ages 13 to 15 for depression and anxiety. He was extremely quick to prescribe me SSRIs, when in hindsight, I had unaddressed anemia, vitamin D deficiency, and hypothyroidism. Those should have been treated before pushing psychiatric medication. Additionally, despite claiming to be an ADHD expert, he completely missed my undiagnosed autism and ADHD, which I was fortunately able to get proper diagnoses of this year from Dr. Natalie Engelbrecht (highly recommend). When I look back at my consultation notes with Dr. Handelman knowing what I know now, my autism should have been crystal clear to anyone with a half decent knowledge of how it presents in women. It is extremely concerning to me that an ADHD “expert” cannot recognize autism when the two conditions are estimated to be up to 80% co-occurring. Please proceed with caution when seeing this psychiatrist, especially if you are a woman who suspects you have autism or ADHD.

Avoid this doctor at all costs! He does not care for his patients at all. All he cares about is money!! He is very condescending and does not show any empathy to his patients.

Dr. Handelman is a terrible doctor. He is very condescending and arrogant. All he cares about is money. I would avoid seeing Dr. Handelman at all costs.

Extremely helpful in my diagnosis. Dr. Handelman not only assessed my situation through standard testing but also talked to me personally to gain a deeper insight in my struggles.
He provided me with comprehensive assessment paperwork, including multiple possible treatment plans that's allowed me to work with my Family Doctor to find the right medication and therapy combinations for my personal needs. Honestly, I can't express how helpful and amazing he and his staff were throughout the process. Even the emails sent had important information highlighted or underlined so that I didn't miss the critical information that I usually would gloss over (because wow, ADHD does that lol)

Dr. Handleman is an amazing psychiatrist. I was undiagnosed with ADHD for 30 years, which is typical for most high-achieving "anxious" women. His staff and the overall assessment were thorough, and, frankly, low cost compared to other places I have seen charging upwards of 2-4K for ADHD assessments. He is friendly and extremely intelligent, and you can tell that he cares about his patients. I also like that he suggests multiple modes of therapy and is not pushy, dismissive, or judgemental. He let me ask any questions (which was a lot!!) and answered with empathy. I have been to other psychiatrists throughout my journey, and I can say with complete confidence my experience with Dr. Handleman was phenomenal, warm and inclusive. My only wish is that I could see him regularly!! You and/or your child are in great care with him and his team.

Dr. Handelman was the best psychiatrist I have interacted with. He’s very understanding and listened to everything I had to say. I enjoyed my time at the clinic and everyone was very kind to me. I appreciated all the tests they did which shows they took the time to make thorough and accurate diagnoses. All in all, he has revived my hope for psychiatry!

He prescribed me SSRI's and a bunch of stimulants without doing bloodwork or knowing enough background information to accurately diagnose me. This has done severe damage since I am bipolar and rapid cycling. Only 5 years later I'm starting to undo the damage that's been caused.
