Find a different Doctor. Take it from someone that took my son here regularly for a number of years - he did nothing to help other than prescribe medication. No psychiatric therapy or proper CBT therapy, nothing! Wasted precious years with this man.

I don't even have words, I went in on May 11th for a psychiatric evaluation. Afterwards he didn't say anything about followups, never called or emailed to let me know he wouldn't be going forward with it. It took over a month to find out he wasn't moving forward and only found out through my school counsellor who had to go back and forth with him before he gave any clear answers. He came in late and the entirety of the time did not listen, rather he was busy giving advice to a trainee. He entirely dismissed my primary issues, essentially saying despite all my symptoms and the fact that I was fine and greatly exaggerated the minor ones that I specifically said were a non issue. I just got my report today and all I have to say is this man should not be allowed to work as a psychiatrist. He's already retired in his mind, and doesn't take the job seriously. It's truly disgusting how he operates. I knew our system was bad but this is borderline negligence for the people coming to him for help.

He was absolutely the worst - he was attending to my mother who just had a psychosis attack. First he comes in and doubles her dose which put her in excrutiating pain. Then when she shared how she feel, he discharged without actually treating her. I am soo sad that they have such bad psychiatrist as Louis Peltz. I wish he would go back to school and actually learn to do his job.

This guy is a literal pig. There's no better word to describe this being. Everybody knows him as the worst psychiatrist in all of GTA. I myself had a joke of a experience a few years ago when I needed help and I personally know tons of people who in real life who have had the same. The biggest issue with this guy is that everyone leaves him because they ask for another doctor so therefore anyone who gets referred to the credit valley psychiatry will end up getting him so please be smart and ask for another doctor or go to camh because credit valley is honestly a joke for mental health. I have witnessed other psychiatrists and several nurses bad mouth this guy too! The system is totally aware of him and they are literally just waiting on him to retire finally!!

The worst psychiatrist! He is so invalidating, dismissive, condescending, you name it! he does not listen to his patients whatsoever. i have never met a psychiatrist this horrible in my life. i told him about my adhd symptoms and i know i have adhd, other doctors confirmed i have it but he denied it because the symptoms in women are harder to detect. he is so insensitive and does not take the time to understand his patients. he has gaslighted me & made me cry because he wouldn’t listen to my concerns. please NEVER go to this psychiatrist, especially women. i am shocked that he’s even a doctor. he should be fired for how he’s treated me & other patients. DON’T GO TO HIM!!!!!!!

Saw him in person first. I was supposed to get a psych evaluation but he didn't do that. Felt more like a therapy session. He asked me about my family situation. Wasn't really compassionate. In the end he got the doctor he was training to choose what medication to prescribe me that I have now been taking for four months and it has done nothing for me. We have spoken on the phone twice since and other than telling me to up the dosage, he has told me to "give it a few more months". He completely dismissed my depression which is the main issue. Doesn't even seem like he takes notes or knows my situation since in the doctor's note he wrote to my school, he didn't mention my depression at all and said I have "frequent panic attacks" which isn't true. In terms of my mild OCD he said "I can assure you touching a doorknob won't make you sick"... I still don't have a formal diagnosis even though my GP said I am majorly depressed and referred me to Peltz for a psych evaluation (which I never got) and my depression has continued to get worse. He continues to dismiss my problems.

I've seen him for a few years since I was young and he often talks about irrelevant topics and has a rather dismissal attitude. I have some degree of sympathy since it's blatant his specialty is autism, especially very young children but his punctuality is abhorrent and the most change/genuine feedback I've faced are 2 med changes over the course of 5 years. I've tried to change psychs to no avail and other doctors defend him which is doubly frustrating. His attitude has generally been "you'll probably figure out you have to start putting in even more effort to make things work and succeed" rather than actually giving guidance as to how to accomplish that. I generally try to be empathetic with the doctors I see as I know it's a stressful profession but I still shouldn't have to compromise my health and 5 years of my life for this I think. He's been clearly unempathetic with yawning and indifferent attitudes in-person, and often I leave the meeting even more frustrated than when I entered as I realize I'll have to wait 3-5 more months to accomplish nothing yet again. I have significant attention issues and some dissociative tendencies others have noticed and I have absolutely no progress on either after all this time. Do yourself a favour, unless you're a parent of a very young child with autism, please try to evade him. You'll just be stuck with him and find yourself wasting gas and time. I hate bad-mouthing people but I know so many of my classmates that have horror stories with him too and I want to really cement that it's not worth it.

The worst psychiatrist I've ever met. This man should not be allowed to talk to patients. Helped ruin my life even more.

I have been consulting him for my 12 years, with special needs, he always listens, never jump to the conclusion, he started medication and followed up. Talked nicely to my boy. I have a good experience with him and his office.
