After being the patient at this clinic for over 6 years, I can no longer put up with their attitude and decided to share my experience. And this is way:
I went through 6 nurse/physician practitioners within 18 months. For the last 7 visits, I had to see a new nurse practitioner because the previous one had left.
Even more frustrating is how long I had to wait to be seen and how rude the clinic manager is.
I waited for over 3 hours during the first visit and over 2 hours for the second to be seen by Dr. Lalani. Three weeks ago, I checked in around 9:00am for a 9:45am appointment. At 9:45am, I asked the receptionist whether Dr. Lalani was running on time. Only then I was told that he was already running one hour and 45 minutes late and counting.
I asked the receptionist (1) why she didn’t inform me that the doctor was running almost two hours late when I checked in and (2) why the appointments with Dr. Lalani always run a minimum of two to three hours late.
By then the clinic manager came out and told me that “Dr. Lalani owns the clinic, and he sets his own schedule.”
He further added “Do you have any idea how hard it is for my staff to tell you that Dr. Lalani is running late.”
I replied “Do you have any idea how hard it is for your patients to wait for hours, missing work and re-scheduling other appointments because Dr. Lalani cannot keep his schedule, not once or twice, but every time.”
To my surprise, the clinic manager had the audacity to reply “You are talking just for the sake of talking!”
In short, if you don’t mind waiting for hours or dealing with a clinic manager who is rude to patients, then by all means, this is the place to go. I had no trouble finding other doctors at the Mayo clinic to help me with my thyroid issue. It is much more pleasant to deal with people who are courteous and service-oriented at other clinics than at this clinic.
