He prescribed me a medication I am allergic to, even though I told him I was allergic, and he kept trying to tell me that allergy is rare. I ended up in full body hives for 2 weeks. He needs to listen to his patients.

My husband went in to see dr scholtens to get a doctors note that he needs for work. He woke up not feeling well. Normally the average person does not go into the doctor for nausea and runs that only lasts for one day but regardless his place of employment needs a note. When my husband went in dr scholtens proceeded to tell my husband that "he knows it's bull?!?), my husband knows it's bull?!?? and his work will know it's bull?!?". I was shocked that a medical doctor who has NEVER seen my husband before had the right it say that to a patient without any history of my husband. The only reason my husband had not gone to his family doctor is because he just recently retired and he has yet to find a new doctor. Overall I think that, that is the most unprofessional manner that a doctor should be talking to a patient.
Oh and yes he still gave him the doctors note that was apparently "bull?!?$" will defiantly be reporting this to the medical association.

I was extremely unhappy . I was nervous to go to the Drs and finally brought myself there . I asked for. Scholtens if I could have a pap or check for stds he said no " then I would have to get the equipment out " I'm like okay well I'm itchy .. He goes you can get canesten. I'm like sir I would feel a lot better if you were able to check me because I do have symptoms . He said keep that relationship with your dr . I'm not doing that ! I have never in my life been to a walk in Drs office that has said that to me ! He was lazy ! I will never go back . I got up and finally said are you sure you can't ? He said I said no before good night . Rude .

I love this doctor, never feel rushed, always pleasant and has helped me with everything...I trust him and fell,so much better after visiting him for any issue

As a human, he's friendly but as a doctor, he's incompetent and needs to retire!I have told both of my parents to refuse any further care from him. My mother has had a problem with her foot for well over a year that includes fibromas. He eventually told her he "washes his hands of it and can not do anything for her." Why not refer her to a specialist? I had my mom go to my doctor at the same clinic for a second opinion, she referred my mom onto a specialist. This has created a chain of events which includes different specialists and tests for my mom. In a recent visit he told my mom "you and I are the only ones that seem to care about this". Are you f****n kidding me? My mom bit her tongue from saying what she REALLY thought of him. The conclusion to this is that my mom has cancer in her foot and has to have it amputated early April. If he had referred her in the very beginning of her foot complaints, this could've been avoided!

Treats me like a friend, not merely as patient. He sometimes consults the internet in my presence, explains things thoroughly. and allows me the freedom of an informed decision regarding treatment. I Have been in his care for more than 30 years. It is true that he is cautious about draining the free health care system we enjoy, but in his defense, when there is no family history or other indicators of problems, he schedules less costly tests first, which I'm sure he would have done in the colonoscopy test request that upset one of the reviewers. When the situation demands, he is quick to defer to a specialist. We need more doctors like him. By the way, I have know this man only as my doctor.

Doctor Scholtens has been my MD for 10 years. He has great bedside manner and I have always been treated professionally. He is wise enough to know when to refer me to a specialist for anything that is beyond the scope of a GP.

Dr.Scholtens is compassionate and takes the time to listen to hear you out on your problems. I feel comfortable talking to him and never feel rushed so that he can go on to the next patient. To compliment his excellent bedside manner, he has always dealt with me in a professional manner and handled my ailments very well.
