Do not trust this man. It is time for him to retire. My father went to him, and being over the age of 55 he said he thought he might need a colonoscopy. This doctors responce? You don't need one! Excuse me but did you use your x-ray glasses to see if he had cancer?! He doesn't want to do anything that might "cost" the health care system. He is useless. Sorry to be so harsh, but this is someones health we are taking about. Open up your eyes and ears, look and learn to LISTEN to your patients! Or as I said retire already.

Almost killed my wife by treating her for heartburn instead of the heart attack she had. She ended up spending 2 weeks in the cardiac ward of Mc Master. I would not trust this man with anything. When I confronted him with his misdiagnosis he blamed my wife saying she should have known.

Dr. Scholtens is outstanding and so are his nurses. As for that whining smoker's comment, maybe you should quit smoking! As a smoker, you DO abuse the system. As a taxpayer I pay for you when you are sick! I've never heard of any dangers in QUITTING smoking so maybe you should be taking the fine doctors advice, loser. Enough about that comment, and on to Dr. Scholtens. I have found him to be quick to the punch, yes, but never rude or out of bounds. He is virtually always on time and always apologizes if things get behind. I think there are some med students and residents that are in there which he spends time doing, so there are always reasons that he is found to be busy. He looks things up, recommends specialists immediately if needed and treats the whole age range of people from babies to 99 years old, unlike some other cherry-picking doctors. So quit your whining...at least you have a doctor!

Very abrupt and condescending towards patients. Had to see this doctor when my regular practitioner was not available on a couple of occasions(they both work at the same clinic). He was rude and refused to treat my chest infection because I smoke (told me that this should be a lesson learned and I should quit smoking). Went to a walk-in clinic and the Dr. there could not believe that he would not treat me considering the condition I was in. I do not abuse the system and only seek medical help when I really, really need it - and was shocked with Dr. Sholten's poor attitude and lack of empathy. Would not recommend him. Family and friends that are patients at this clinic feel the same way (I'm not the only one that has this opinion)

Doesn't know diddly about adolescent psychological issues. Don't disagree with this man, especially if you're of Dutch decent and not Canadian Reformed - Yikes!

the very first doctor I have ever had who actually listened to me, didn't rush me, was considerate and in whom, I had complete trust. A wonderful doctor that I wish I still had but have moved 600 kms away.

I known Dr Scholtensover 25 years. He is forward thinking and provides good advice. He is kind, understanding, and truly interested in his patient. He is willing to discuss unusual approaches to medicine and provide intelligent argument as needed. Although I may not always agree, at least I go away with well informed intelligence regarding the matter.

He is always very punctual and organized. He had definitely improved over the years--mellowed a lot and more respectful of women and has become less judgemental. He has always been very good clinically and a good diagnostician. He's great with kids. Very straightforward and 'no-holds' barred type. It makes respect his opinion and know he will not sugar coat things.
