Wonderful doctor who listens and has genuine concern. He has a broad understanding of the health care system and the judgement to help patients avoid unnecessary, potentially invasive or excessive tests, treatments, and procedures. Great common sense. Treats his patients like family. It would be great if the health care system were more efficient so that he and his staff would have more time available.

Dr.Borges still practices medicine the old fashioned way: one patient at a time, who gets his full attention. Spent a full hour with me on a physical, did the EKG,vital signs, etc himself--so really observes the patient--and had a full discussion before I left. Results of the bloodwork came in the mail afterwards, with a note on unusual readings--this leaves it up to you to go back with followup questions. For me, that's a small price to pay in exchange for the excellent personal attention during the office visit.

Dr. Borges' name was given to me by a friend when I was eager to find a "good" doctor. The man is great! I never feel rushed out of his office and he actually listens to me as a patient and all my concerns. It's also never a problem getting an appointment. I would recommend him to anyone, and I have. As for the staff... pleasant enough.

This was the worst experience I've had in a long time. The dr mails you the results? I've seen other people's comments about this, but I took a chance. The office staff is rude and never pass on messages. A lump was found and I wanted a test asap. I didn't care about the blood work, and I wanted to see if the lump I had was cancerous. I couldn't get him to refer me out nor order the test. I got my results in the mail and possible suggestions (?) for care. Every dr I've ever seen has called with results when they are abnormal or had the test ordered asap. I won't be going back. Now I have to find a dr on my own to figure out the cause of this lump.

I love Dr. Borges - I've never been to a doctor that does business the way he does. He schedules one patient at time (and your appt. starts at the scheduled time) and the appointment is devoted entirely to you. He doesn't have you get undressed and then wait in a cold room while he makes his way between several patients. When you first arrive, you have a consult in his office where he asks many questions not only about your general health, but about your personal life (stress, job, etc). You then get changed and within a few minutes he's knocking on the door for your exam. After the exam, you get dressed and meet in his office again. This is the first doctor I've had that didn't make me feel rushed and pushed through as quickly as possible. He takes time to ask many questions and answers thoroughly any questions you have and addresses your concerns - he never gives the air of "doctor-patient" superiority. Great doctor; it will be a shame when he retires.

I would have to say that I didn't find a knowledgeable doctor at all. I had to ask to have tests taken to find out what my condition was! I came in with several complaints I had, and I had an idea of what it was. I had to ask him to do a particular panel, and his words were "what else would you like". I was shocked. When I did get the results, he never called me. He mailed me a typewritten page that said I had high cholesterol and probably should take a statin! Then suggested I see a specialist for the condition that had I not have asked for the panel, I would not have known I had! I had to find a specialist myself. I cannot fathom that a doctor would mail you your results without having you come in and discuss such serious conditions. I didn't get a good feeling after leaving there. I honestly felt I knew more than he did, and I was right. Had I not have pushed for the tests, I got the feeling he thought the symptoms were all in my mind.
