I has a surgery in 2002 with Dr. Rotenberg. He performed a lateral retinacular release and partial snovectomy (on a 16 year old athlete!) and I spent the next five years in pain until I found a real doctor to fix his mistake. When I went to him after the surgery in pain six months later he said it was in my head, was rude, arrogant and took no responcibility for his actions. He cut entirely through my LR and 3/4 inch into my vastis laterus. I am now looking at a third surgery to repair what his trigger happy scalpel has done to me.

This doctor is terrible. Fixed my arm and it had to get re-fixed by an orthopedic surgeon who knew what he was doing.

Arrogant, condescending and rude are the three best words to describe Dr. Rotenberg. I was operated on by this Dr. after a traumatic fracture and had been seen in the ER. According to specialists at the University the surgery was done improperly. The leg healed crooked and screws behind the knee cap backed out causing a great deal of pain. When he was contacted about the increased pain I was discounted as just looking for more pain meds. The surgery caused more damage to my knee requiring two more surgeries the last being a total knee replacement. Throughout this whole ordeal this doctor talked down to myself and my family and had very poor bedside manner. Steer clear of this doctor at all costs.

I was referred several years ago by my GP when I developed knee problems. After MRI, I had arthroscopic surgery on both knees, one in April, the other in October. Knees improved following the procedure. I was informed that my arthritis was severe in my right knee, bone on bone, and in time would need a replacement. Cortosome shots and Suppartz injections delayed the replacement surgery five years. I am very pleased with the ongoing care received. Finally this May, I was not able to find relief with what had worked for many years. All my questions were answered. Knee replacement done in July. Excellent hospital, doctor, and PT care. I am able to return to most activities, and know that if I have any concerns, I can easily be seen ASAP and get answers. Glad I had the surgery.

I had knee surgery with this doctor.I believe there was no problem with this surgery. However, about 11 months later I made an appointment to see him due to swelling and pain in my calf. He looked at my leg and did x-rays and determined it was an arthritis flare up and to ice it and take Naproxen. If the pain and swelling continued, I was to come back for a shot. I left and 2 days later the pain in my calf became excruciating. It was a Sunday, so I called his service and it happened he was the doctor on call. He said to call his office for an MRI the following day. I said, what am I supposed to do about the pain I'm having and he said I guess you could go to urgent care. I knew something was wrong and I called the Blue Cross nurse hotline. After asking many questions, she told me to get to an urgent care within 3 hours as she felt I had a blood clot. I did in fact have a blood clot and it was critical that I got care. He examined me 2 days earlier and totally missed obvious signs.

I waited for 45 minutes to see this physician. When I did see him he only talked to me for about 10 minutes. I felt as though my medical problems weren't important.
