He told me I had a hereditary constricture in my ureter and gall stones. He then said he would line up tests during the next two weeks. The tests never happened. I didn’t hear anything from him or his office during that time. I have ended up in the ER nine times in the last week. The ER did all of the testing. My ureter is fine. I have kidney stones and not gall stones. I told him a that my prostate was really enlarged and about it continued growth even after 3 prostate surgeries. He told me that was not the reason I couldn’t urinate even though the ER exams showed the exact opposite. The ER physician said my prostate should be removed. Then DR Shook scheduled me for kidney stone removal ( or the original gall stones heh?). I declined and insisted on a second opinion. The nerve of me! He said an associate in his group could do that. Yeah, how truthful would that be? The group he is in has a monopoly on urology in this area. I certainly do not trust that type of business model. Can anyone please give me the name of a urologist not associated with him or his group? My insurance company spent three hours this morning trying to get me help. His group would not allow any talking between the insurance rep and their doctors. Please, I am in a rough spot and need some help

For the second time I waited over an hour and left without seeing Dr Shook. No explanation. Only solution I can see is to find another urological practice.

Been my doctor for 10 years I feel I'm in good hands with him. My sorry insurance Cigna does not cover me to see him anymore. I wish I could get a job with decent insurance. As soon as I turn 65 in 2 years I will continue seeing him.

I had an MRI done and was told I'd get results in about a week. It's been a month. NO results communicated to me. I called twice 10 days after and left 2 voice mails at the "Nurses Station" prompt. No call back. I wrote a letter directly to the Dr. 2 weeks ago. No response. I called yesterday and left another message. No call back. I am self pay, so I paid for this already. They have my money, my results, my four voice mails and a letter. I don't have my results yet, and to me, at least, the results matter....I hope nothing is wrong with me. If so, I can't find out.......

My primary doctor sent a referral to Dr. Shook's office! A 4 cm mass was found on my kidney through and MRI. I called Dr. Shook's office to make the appointment. Was told that it takes his staff 5 to 6 days to process a referral. What! Then the women on the phone preceded to tell that the doctors would then look at my referral to see if they thought I needed an appointment with them. Really! It's nice to know that a 4 cm mass is not considered URGENT! What is the use of a referral if their staff and doctors do not think one is of and urgent nature. I told the person who I was talking to that I didn't want to be seen by a doctor who has this type of Attitude. I guess the doctors there are making so money they can pick and choose who gets to be seen by their office.
