Created a place for monetary gain, with disregard for patient care. The climate is cultlike with a continuous revolving door of staff. The staff that stay are there for money only and couldn't make it in private practice. They are terrified of Viner. His misogyny with women parents patients, and staff is astonishing in today's world. YellowBick is dangerous and immoral. Do not, ever send your loved one's there. They will leave worse than they arrived and your pocketbook will be emptied. Below zero ratings are what is appropriate.

The word "narcissist" gets thrown a lot these days so I just want to be clear, to anyone who might be reading these reviews and feeling skeptical. Dr Jesse Viner explicitly believes that he has a "healing gift from God".

He misdiagnosed my autism as bipolar disorder and was confident enough in that diagnosis to put my on lithium, of all things. For those who don't know, lithium is so terrible for your kidneys that it cannot be used as a long-term solution for any disorder because in the long term it kills you.

Again, this man claims to have a "healing gift from God". Avoid this doctor at all costs. He is literally delusional.

I saw Dr. Viner 28 years ago. We stopped therapy abruptly at the lowest point in my life when I no longer had insurance that could pay his fees. He was narcissistic and manipulative. If you told him you wanted to stop therapy, he would convince you that it was because you couldn't face the facts about yourself. I was too young to understand that I was a self-absorbed , egotistical, arrogant, doctor. The person who referred me to Dr. Viner was one of his cult followers and thought Dr. Viner was a genius. Now that I look back at the situation and have had competent therapy, I realize that he was abusive and sadistic and used his patients to inflate his already huge ego. I was very desperate and damaged, he made it worse. Something told me, all these years later ,to check out reviews. Now I know why - I wasn't imagining it!

I was a patient of Dr. Viner's when he had a private psychoanalytic practice and I remember him as being an incredibly compassionate, empathic and insightful therapist. Since starting the Yellowbrick program he is more preoccupied with the organization than his individual patients. He is easily annoyed, often distracted, and refuses to recognize or acknowledge his own shortcomings. Although he can still be brilliant, insightful and compassionate, his priorities have clearly shifted to the growth and management of his growing organization. As an individual therapist that makes him less reliable, from both a practical and an emotional standpoint.

He has issues that he has not dealt with, and because of this he hurts some of his patients. Mostly what he presents is a facade of caring. He can be very sadistic.

It seems there have been many persons who were in treatment with Dr. Viner who seem to have the same reaction to him. I trusted him at first until he turned on me, and then I learned how abusive he can be. He is clearly a narcissist in the pathological sense of the term. He has a facade that fools many in the beginning and clearly thinks females desire him. He is getting old, though, and what happens when trying to keep a younger look no longer works. It is unfortunate as he is very superficial and is attracted to others who are superficial as well. He does not do well with people who are honest and do not worship him.

Dr. Viner seems to have all the answers but my lengthy stay at his treatment center left me none. When I brought up this problem he would say the same thing - stay longer, stay longer. It was ridiculously expensive. He would charge $500 an hour when he was in the room. Not very many people from my experience left on good terms. I'm having trouble thinking of one success story and I've seen a lot of people go through that place. The only good thing I have to say about there is that they are very flexible (as long as they are being paid) and will give you many chances. I'm not sure You will not be easily dismissed from the program. It is also a very chaotic environment. I have been exposed to very disturbing things, from extremely serious self-harm to violent outbursts and of course some very heavy emotional stuff. They are horrible at calling worried parents back, often up to 3 weeks. Oh and be sure to check the billing, they have a way of charging for things they cancelled.

i very much agree that anyone with abuse in their past should not see this man. he is a textbook narcissist and is driven only by a desire to fill his bank account and inflate his ego. i consider him to be one of the worst people i've met in my entire life: he has built a fortune on the backs of desperate people and their families and has no qualms about it. and like a narcissist, he has surrounded himself with followers who have somehow been convinced he has the mind of a genius and the heart of a saint. i strongly encourage you to keep yourself, AND YOUR CHILDREN, as far away from Dr. Viner as possible.

Dr. Viner is a very compassionate and genuinely caring doctor with a great deal of insight. But insight doesn't come quickly or cheaply. If his services don't fit into your budget you obviously need to work with someone else. That doesn't make him an uncaring doctor; it makes him a good business man. Like it or not, psychiatry is still a business and it is important to be an informed consumer. Since he has a very long waiting list and very little time to take on new patients, people who need extra time and attention, along with a lower fee, really would be better served by a different psychiatrist. All of the libelous commentary, however, is totally unnecessary.

He can be very nice and then turn on a person and become very nasty and try to ram his opinion down your throat. If you don't accept his view, he gets hostile. He also labels you with very nasty labels if you confront his stuff. He should not work with people who have been abused as he can be very abusive himself.
