I have had several trips to this doctor and find him the best at fixing the problem but not the be personality. However, I would rather have a doctor fix the problem than make me feel happy inside. To bad it's hard to find both.

I've had to go to Dr. Garro numerous times over the last 3 years. To those that think he's busy with surgery so that's why you're waiting. That's not it. He schedules his appointments 5 minutes apart and then comes in from lunch (or in the morning) 1 hr 20 minutes late. I've learned to ask for the first appointment or else you will be waiting for hours. Then when I finally get to see him, I'll tell him my symptoms while he's checking my ears and then hands my prescriptions or referrals. I finally asked my primary care doctor for another ENT to go to. If it's not worth his time to see me within a reasonable time or treat me with respect, it's not worth my money to go there. I'll never go back to him.

Will you wait a long time to be seen? Probably. Is he warm and fuzzy? Not really. But dont be mistaken. As far as skill, there is no one better. He has been in practice over 40 years and knows his stuff better than anyone. If you can look past the bedside manner, you will get the best care available.

I had a scheduled surgery with Dr. Garro in 3 days from this date. I was there today to do my pre op for my surgery. Dr. Garro asked if I had any questions. I said "yes". I asked how the procedure was done (deviated septum). He refused to answer the question. I said well, "I just want to know everything that's going to happen". He said "didnt you get a brochure". Holy cow, I have to learn about my surgery through a brochure. I said well "your not operating on me, if you cant tell me what you do". He said "it's a medical procdure", like it was top secret. I said Good Bye, got up and walked out. NOOOOO Way, is someone going to operate on my face, if they cant tell me how they do it. Very rude and disrepectful. I gave a low knowledgeable because he could not tell me how the surgery was done. Helpful, not even close. B.P. Waldorf, Md.

Very sharp technically but his manner can be off putting. He did a great job on my deviated septum and diagnosed another problem that some others had not detected. However he was very short with me at times and downright rude to my wife. He reprimanded a woman on his staff in front of me. One of his staff, on more than one occasion, wanted to discuss politics with me.

When I needed to see an ear, nose & throat specialist, my doctor told me about Garro but stated that he did NOT have a very good bedside manner. My brother-in-law took his wife to see Garro. He said that Garro was great and his wife was getting better. Garro spoke with him directly about his wife only listening to her about her ailments. My first visit he was very pleasant. I went several weeks having numerous audio/visual tests with several members of his staff. He seems to treat all of his female staff with very little respect. Waiting for a discussion on the final results, he just came in the room and said that I had Meniere's disease/tinnitus with some hearing loss. I asked about medication and treatment. He rudely said something like you're getting older -- that's what happens and just left the room. At least, I found out what was happening but I'll never return nor recommend him to anyone.

I don't know where the comments for poor and rude treatment come from on this site. I had surgery several years ago by doctor Garro and was under his care for many. The surgery went well and he always took time to tell me in words I could understand what was going on with my ears. It is obvious from your wait in his waiting room that he is a good doctor and worth the wait. I also never questioned his advice because he proved his knowledge and skills to me on a regular basis during my treatment and healing. If you cannot respect what he does and don't trust his advice, you should get another doctor.

Horrible bedside manner and didn't care to listen to me. All he wanted to do was push prescriptions on me. His staff is rude and does not respect patient confidentiality. I will not go back.
