I phoned Dr Reilly’s office this morning to obtain the results of test done during my endoscopy. I spoke to Christie who was very helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Great customer service.
I have found Dr Reilly and his entire staff to be an excellent
group of professionals.

It's been a minute since I have seen Dr. Reilly (2008). I went into remission. Go see him! He is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. Even though I have another great GI doctor, Dr. Reilly is one of the premier GI specialists in the Southeast. I cannot ever thank him enough for diagnosing my Crohn's and taking care of me every step of the way.

I was trying to get an appointment for a colonoscopy but they said if I did not arrive and have someone stay and drive me home it could not be done. I know this is standard procedure in all practices. I asked the office nurse what where my options and was told I could have it without anesthesia and drive myself. You have to be kidding. Ok I had my mother take me the first appointment at his clinic and was scheduled for upper and lower endoscopy. He only did the upper and told us he would do the lower in the hospital which delayed my exam. My mother is no longer living so I don’t have anyone. Ok he makes me a referral with a specialist in Orlando and never tells me what it’s for. This doctor is too busy to explain things to his patient. I have no time to bother him anymore either so waste your time if you want or go to someone who cares!😡

Dr. Patrick F. Reilly's response
I’m sorry that you had this experience and that the reasoning for doing the procedure at the hospital and not the less expensive option of the endoscopy center was not explained to you more clearly or understandably. There are several reasons for doing procedures in the hospital versus the much less expensive option of the endoscopy center, but it sounds like in your case specialized equipment would be needed to handle a polyp that could not be removed safely with standard equipment. Sometimes this equipment is only available in the hospital. If the polyp can not be removed, because of its complexity, I will try to send you to a university (or tertiary center) to try and avoid surgery to remove this. If you were referred to Orlando then I highly recommend that you go as this potentially can turn into a much bigger problem. If you do not want or can not go there than this definitely needs to be discussed in more detail with either me, my staff or another gastroenterologist ASAP. Often these discussions happen after procedures and although appearing lucid may not be remembered because of sedation. Again I am sorry this has not been explained to your satisfaction as I try very hard to explain options and GI difficulties/diseases as best as I can.

When I arrived at 1:00 AM Saturday morning. I waited over 2 hours to see a doctor for my facial injury that had happen when I accidental rolled out of bed and my face under my right eye received a 3 inch gash. My husband drove me to the closet hospital and their I waited because Dr Riley was the only doctor on duty and their was approx. 14 patients a head of me. After 2 hours Dr. Riley examined me and sewed me up and gave a shot. Prior to that he ordered a CAT scan to make their were no other injuries. Then I waited another 2 hours and finally my husband went into the nurses center and demanded that someone he really didn't to release me. My husband in the mean time seen Dr Riley going into another waiting room and called out his name and ask the doctor Riley when is my wife going to get released, Quote Dr Riley "I'm sorry, but I'm the only doctor on duty and I'll be there as soon as I can." We that didn't fly with my husband spoke out and asked "Is there anyone that can give me discharge papers so I can take my home and I can go to work." My husband notice a real waste of personnel not being productive. The nurses center had 5 nurses doing nothing but looking at websites and here you have "ONE" doctor on duty. That to me is very unbalance. My husband originally wanted to take me Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, but the Baptist Hospital came up first. NEXT time if there is a next time "SACRED HEART HOSPITAL" Pensacola.

I’m sorry you had a poor experience but you are rating Pat Reilly, Gastro MD. I think you were cared for by Ivan Riley at BH ER. He is an ER physician and spells his last name slightly different than I do.

Dr. Patrick F. Reilly's response
I don’t work in the ER doing facial injuries or trauma. I believe that you accidentally posted this on the incorrect physician profile
