Good doctor. Very thorough. Offered me surgery on foot no one else would do. Highly recommend.

My review dated July 28th had a new wrinkle . The doctor I went to did order the MRI Dr Boccio refused to order . It now shows the scar tissue not only caused the repair of the original surgery to re tear the tendon but now I have a second tear in the other tendon. Had this been diagnose sooner the second tendon could have been spared and the first repaired by cleaning out the scar tissue. My advise is avoid this “doctor” and I intend to pursue any and all legal remedies since the odds at this point almost one year after surgery will probably leave me limping and in pain for the rest of my life. The odds of a successful repair at this time is unlikely .

I had surgery to repair a torn tendon in my ankle . Prior to surgery I was told it was a simple surgery and would heal quickly . I had been seen post surgery in 2 different hospitals diagnosed with separate infections which dr Boccio rejected claiming they were wrong. Four months later I have an inflamed scar and am walking with a limp. I told him I am in extreme pain to which he replied “ what do you expect me to do”.
I can’t get a shoe or sock over the foot due to the swelling and am mostly in slippers. He tends to be annoyed when you have problems and assume it’s a reflection on his ability and now tells me to go to another doctor if I can’t wait the year it takes to heal. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE SURGERY WITH THIS DOCTOR. I just want to walk again without crying. He just doesn’t care and lacks both skill and humanity.

Dr. Boccio operated on my husband for a hip fracture. Hestill has limited mobility and Dr. Boccio expects for him to.make a office visit from Nesconset Rehabilitation to see him and bring Xrays. He will not see him there. He does not care how he get to his office. Dr Boccio is uncaring and money hungry. He promised the world before surgery. Beware and Stay Clear of Dr Richard Boccio!

Dr. Boccio told me I had a stretched ligament after taking 7 x-rays and told me I needed surgery. Diagnosed me wrong, I had a bruised tendon. No surgery was required. You need an MRI to diagnose tendons and he never did that. I give him a very poor rating because I need absolutely no surgery, just rest.

Was told I need surgery. Without an MRI told me tendon was fine. You can not tell that on an x-ray. After an MRI with another doctor I was told that surgery was not necessary. Being a surgeon I guess that is his answer to all his patients. Please be forewarned that he probably feels that is the only answer.
