The staff has absolutely no problem with lieing to you instead of finding out an answer, I been making my own bed and cleaning my own room because my mother raised me to not live in filth. The one nurse LITTERALLY called security on me and tried to physically block my room door....EXTREMELY ILLEGAL!!!!!!! The housekeeping staff has a waaaaay better bedside manner than most of the nurses(I am actually going to go fishing with one of the girls from housekeeping when I heal)((the couple good nurses are actually GREAT)) I wouldn't trust the bad nurses to empty the trash cans....I had to stop my nurse from injecting me with a empty vile of air. They honestly need to start requiring psychological testing for the hiring process...most of the nurses have the emotional maturity of a small emotionally abused child...probably narcissistic personality disorder because they refuse to even apologize and have no empathy whatsoever....js. The anesthesiologist for my very first surgery made fun of me for my religious beliefs because I can't accept blood transfusions and tried to coerce me into just signing the form anyway. The nicest thing about it is the slim few awesome nurses, the nurse manager Yipsy Osorio has integrity and sadly cannot be cloned,my orthopedic surgeon Dr. Engorn and his staff are consumate professionals and took the time to speak with my 77 year old mother, the ONE doctor that actually had integrity and was honest with me about why I wasn't allowed to have fresh air (I never been to prison but I believe even rapists and murderers are given the courtesy of fresh air once a day),THE BUILDING ITSELF, the other patients, the volunteers at the front desk, golf cart guys in the parking lot ,the food was good and the gentleman that brought me my food tray should be a supervisor or at least get a hefty raise for saving grace from the garbage employees. I'm waiting right now for my fifth surgery...to undo my last 4 surgeries....THAT IS NOT A MISPRINT!!!!!

All the staff on 3east are great and attentive to the patients need. Room was kept clean! However, the food is dry and over cooked. They could improve their food services by not cooking it.

My wife was transported to gulf coast hospital by Lee county. When the ambulance brought her in I was told I had to go into the main emergency entrance. When I went in they told me she wasn’t there and maybe she wasn’t registered yet. I waited a half hour and went back at this point they told me she wasn’t there and I should check other hospitals in the area. Thank goodness I followed the ambulance and knew she was there. After about another half hour I went back and was given the same answer finally a social worker came and took me back to see my wife. At that point they told me they put 2 staples in her head and was being admitted to ICU. I went back the next day and never saw a doctor from Friday night till Tuesday. All those days nobody changed her gave her a toothbrush or washed her face. Finally a nurse that seemed to care went to change her the undergarment they but on her must of weighed 20 pounds of urine. Finally I spoke to someone I thought was a doctor it turned out he was a PA. A week in there and they wanted to send her to a Lee health rehab facility. The care she received at that hospital I would never send her to any hospital operated by Lee health. When I finally got her discharged that PA came in looking to remove the 2 staples that they never put in. You just can’t make this stuff up. When I took her to a neurologist and showed him the medication the PA gave her when she left the hospital he was amazed that any one would prescribe that drug. People in Florida treat there pets better then gulf coast treats their patients. The care she received was criminal. When you question anyone in that place their comeback is that your rude.

Had me in the emergency room hooked up to IVs for over 24 hours. Nothing to eat. When I call nurse to go to the bathroom, noone answered. This hospital used to be at its peak in the beginning. I think it's gone downhill now.

This was once the best hospital in our region. This has become slum like the others. Front staff is rude and triage nurses are slow and not because they’re through with their assessments.

I took my Dad to Gulf Coast several times for congestive heart failure and each time he had to be admitted. This is a great hospital with excellent nursing and doctor's care. I would recommend to anyone.
