I'm very grateful that Dr. Phillips has opened up an office in my small community of Picton. I had experienced the services of two homeopathic doctors in this region over the years and had very mediocre results. I went to Dr. Phillips with some very specific questions and complaints. Physical issues that I have been living with for many many years, and things that my family physician would brush off with an over-the-counter remedy, tell me to change my diet, but not explain how to do so, etc. I also had some age and stage of life related complaints with pain and energy levels. The internet is a source of limitless information, but I was overwhelmed with contradictory information: Stop taking Calcium, Take vitamin B, but only this kind, eat more fibre, not THAT kind of fibre. So I would change nothing . I'd heard really good things about Dr. Phillips from a friend, and I decided to go see if she could help me. Dr. Phillips took a thorough history and had asked me before our first appointment for a list of symptoms, current medications, other medical professionals I was seeing, vitamin supplements as well. I am on a budget and I told her upfront I wanted to be able to manage my health without purchasing expensive supplements and vitamins. That I wanted to be able to purchase food that is easily accessible in our small community. She explained her recommendations clearly, and supplied me with her written notes to take home with me including a "shopping list" of a few affordable items I had never tried before (shopped at the local health food store and Penny's Pantry - who both stock items at Dr. Phillips request). And then she forwarded extensive notes via email containing recipes and meal suggestions. All these recipes were delicious, affordable and easy to make. Within days I had begun to feel so much better. At follow-up appointments Dr. Phillips checked in to make sure that her recommendations were doing what they should, made a few suggestions regarding vitamin supplements to target specific physical issues. She provided me with all the information I required to pick up exactly what I needed. I still follow Dr. Phillips dietary and vitamin suggestions. I feel energized and healthier than I have in a very long time. No more buying over-the-counter medication when simple, doable changes and a few additions to my diet made all the difference in the world. She is very upfront but very conventional. Limited knowledge as she was can't even answer to whether she can treat a specific condition or not. Lastly She doesn't prescribe natural dessicated thyroid. She resembles any other conventional care provider.
