Simply best doctor I ever had. Saves my life more than one and for that I thank her

Dr Segal has been my Oncologist for nearly 3 years and she has the knowledge and patience that makes me very comfortable with her, If there is question about my treatment, we both have the chance to make a combined decision which is the best for my health.She is always on time, and I have only had her miss one appointment, when she was away attending a conference. I have the greatest confidence in her for my survival. Thanks Dr Segal, keep up the great work.

I have been seeing her for the past 8 months and I couldn't be happier. She explains things in a simple way to help you understand. She takes notes on paper and gives them to you so you can remember things she talked to you about. I have great faith in her and the care she is giving me.

Dr Segal is a wonderful person/doctor. She never makes us feel rushed and explains things very well. Almost always on time, a rarity these days. Her knowledge is first rate. It hurts her to give bad news but she knows she needs to make sure you are informed. Thank you so much!

Dr. Segal is a truly remarkable physician! I have been seeing her for over 4 years and I feel extremely fortunate to have her overseeing my cancer care; everyone should be so lucky as to have a doctor like Dr. Segal. She is very knowledgeable, competent, caring, compassionate and thorough. I have full confidence in her and I feel safe in her care. Quite remarkably, she also is almost always on time (which is not an experience I am accustomed to when seeing a specialist). She is very engaging, easy to communicate with and is straightforward when providing her diagnosis, treatment and prognosis information. I have had dealings with several dozen doctors over the years, in my view Dr. Segal stands head and shoulders above them all - she is a true professional and I hold her in the very highest regard! If ever you require cancer care in the Ottawa area, hope Dr. Segal is the doctor assigned to your case! As well, at my very many appointments, I have always seen Dr. Segal herself.

Dr Segal is a highly knowledgeable and excellent oncologist. She takes time to explain carefully your diagnostic and treatment plan. The only thing that I dont like about her is even thought she is in the office you are often seen by her assistant only which is not an oncologist. Her assistant check-up is not as thorough as Dr Segal, so I do not feel safe being seen by her assistant/non-oncologist person. Dr Segal has been my oncologist for more than two years, however I have not spoken to her in the past year (14 months) as my last four appts I was seen by her assistant only even though she was at the office. My first year in treatment I was seen by Dr Segal on a regular basis and felt fortunate to have her as my oncologist. I wish that she would see her patient herself instead of sending her assistant. This is the reason I am giving a 4 for Helpful, otherwise it would be a 5

Dr Segal is knowledgeable, helpful, has lot of empathy, and is caring and understanding. I gave a low rating for the staff only because some secretaries at the reception have been problematic. I have at times been held waiting for 90 minutes (by not assigning me in proper turn) even though I reached early and patients who came 20 and 40 minutes after me had all left and the secretaries had all left. Sometimes my tests weren't ordered in time and I was given a run-around when I called. From their attitude I guess they may even think that some patients are a burden on the medical system. To wait 90 minutes within three months of diagnosis and surgery (not counting the 2 hours two-way bus ride in winter) is not just prejudice but inhumane.

I feel truly blessed to have Dr. Segal as my Oncologist. Does not dismiss any feelings or ailments. Takes you and her job very seriously but makes you feel heard and cared for. She is wonderful.

Excellent Oncologist. Very professional, caring, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. She is dealing with people's lives and is very thorough and takes all the necessary measures. We are very lucky to have her at the Cancer clinic.
