Shackleton is a legit scam. Scamming insurance companies is what he does. I highly suggest finding another professional for treatment.

My experience with Dr. Shackleton has been outstanding. Not only is he a skilled diagnostician, but a warm, caring and compassionate human being. After being misled into various TMD treatment scams by other dentist (that have left me with permanent complications), I finally found the subspecialty of dentistry known as “orofacial pain specialists”. The clinicians with this specialty training should be the ones handing ALL of the TMD patients. As far as I’m concerned, the a ADA&C should have mandated this ages ago to prevent the public from being mislead into unproven therapies that permanently alter the bite to “cure” their pain. Now there is a new craze of frenectomies curing TMD and bruxism, which again is unproven and can cause significant harm to the patient. If you suffer from orofacial pain I highly suggest seeing Dr. Shackleton to get an accurate diagnosis of your condition. As far treatment goes, he adheres to the most current evidence-based protocols and will not suggest anything radical or unproven. Also, he is super humble & has a great sense of humour! 🙂 100% recommend.

Recently had root canal completed, which I was very nervous about. Had seen Dr. Shackleton before, and knew he was personable, very knowledgeable and wouldn't do any unneccesary work. Fantastic experience. Better than I could have hoped for. Very thorough and most of all gentle...no great pain the next day. Very friendly support staff as well.

If you need a root canal, advise you go to endodontist or Oral Surgeon. Too many dentists, with limited knowledge if problems arise, are left flat-footed.

Super helpful, and also very realistic and practical. Was honest that he could do a procedure (and charge for it) but that I really didn't need it. Very knowledgeable and gave me practical suggestions. He is incredibly accessible: provides his cell number to call in an emergency.
