I was sent from another Hospital to MaKay Dee, How Dr. Steven J. Carabine, was there I don’t know- I was to sick, But he stepped in and took over, He knew exactly what to with Confidence , knowledge , He is extremely skilled and a professional surgeon. There was No pre-scheduling or doctor visit, I was an emergency, He had no time to prepare, I was sick and swelling up like a Helium balloon , disgusting is what I was. I was a high risk of not making it through surgery- and Dr.Carabine did not run nor pass me off to some other doctor, he took his knowledge, wisdom, education , compassion , and confidence and proceeded with surgery , What a incredible human being and Doctor, He is a special gift from God. I highly recommend Dr.Steve Carabine, his bedside manners were fabulous, he made sure my family was taken care of before the surgery, he was always up front and honest, Calm and reassuring, and I was a terrible patient , thank you Dr. Carabine and staff, beautiful you all are- thank you just isn’t enough for all you have done for me. What an experience we all had.

Terrible experience with Dr. Carabine taking care of my father following a routine outpatient gallbladder removal by laparoscopy. He failed to acknowledge bile leak which caused sepsis multiple times ultimately contributing to his death after months of pain and suffering in and out of the hospital. Would never advise anyone to have him as a surgeon!!

Bedside manner is atrocious. Doesn't take time, no compassion. Did not insert a drain when it was very evident that it should have been done. Did not acknowledge the need after the fact rather made excuses. The experience we had was such that we would go pretty much anywhere else for any future surgical needs.

Carabine is a very knowledgeable doctor. He is very good at what he does. At first it takes some time to get used to his quick visits, but that doesn't mean he doesn't care. He is my number one surgeon. Carabine takes good care of me.

I had surgery with him and although I had heard good comments about his skill and knowledge I was not impressed with his bedside manner. When I had complications from my surgery he was not very helpful or supportive. The office staff was very good and helpful.
