The doctors and nurses treat everyone as though they are seeking pain medication. My daughter was in twice-they didn’t even take vitals. There was a sh**** towel in the bathroom. I was in ER 3x in one week I. 2020. ER DR kept sending me home. On 3rd visit he sent me home without checking my lab work because had he done that, he would have caught the sepsis I had. I almost died on Friday of the week I went in 3 x. I ended up in ICU for 3 weeks, developed Grave’s disease as a result of the shock to my body, stopped breathing twice and had to be intubated twice, nearly had to get a tracheotomy. It took me months to recover and my voice had never been the same. Don’t go here if you can help it. Even after reporting these incidents, nobody bothers to apologize. I should have sued them!

My father an 83 year old black man was first seen in Maryvuew on November the 23rd. He could not pass his bowels. He was released on November 26th and still had not passed his bowels, That Sunday my mother told me he vomited, therefore causing her to return to the hospital. At this time he still had not passed his bowels. After several test had been administered and his medical history reviewed, medical staff agreed to insert a tube into my father's nose, allowing it to go internally to his stomach and pump the waste from his intestines. Once the waste was pumped from his stomach, it went into a plastic container, which was located to the rear of my father on a wall behind him. As time went by, my father was administered dosages of morphine for pain. He was administered palliative, comfortable, and hospice care while in the hospital. On Sunday December 18, 2018, while my son and I visited my father in the hospital, we went to his room to find him on the floor, butt bald necked. He was like a wounded animal hanging on, confused, and lethargic. We pulled the curtain back, to find my father like this. I was very upset and disoriented when I pulled the curtain back. I have congestive heart failure and I was very upset, causing my heart to beat profusely. I called an aunt who is like a mother to me. She calmed me down. I would have not made it if I had not talked to her. I also called one of my best friends that stay close by. She and two of her daughter's came to the hospital. One of the person's attending to my father( the woman that gave him a examination) , asked me did I want a sedative, I told her no. All of the nurses on duty at this time, were either sitting ir standing around the nurses station. My father's curtain was drawn. One of the individuals stated to me that she had just bathed my father, and changed his clothes. There were no clothes in the bed. After the nurse checked him to make sure he had no injuries, he was clothed and put back into bed. My son that came to the hospital with me was in my father's room, while this was going on. I was too terrified to stay in the room.Three questions; how did my father get out of bed and on the floor? Why was he butt bald naked? Why was the nursing staff, on duty that evening all sitting, or standing around the nurses station? Remember I previously stated the curtain was drawn., in the room where my father was.Two days later on December the 20th my father passed. He was a veteran. I followed in my father's foot step. I am a veteran also. My father never cussed, drank liquor, or drugs, however he was not important enough of a human being for the nursing staff to make sure, he was unable to get out of the bed. I have been unable to sleep, because of this. I am experiencing PTSD from this. I am writing this to let others know that this is unacceptable. My father is in heaven. I am sure of this, however his last days on earth were horrible. I will make sure that no one ever experiences anything similar to this. I was visiting my father 3-4 times a week, and continuously calling to check on him. My mother and older sister visited often as well. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grand-father is gone, however he will never be forgotten. This is written to make people aware of what my father experienced. I am writing this under no coercion or influence from anybody. This is written of my own free will. I must let individual know about this so that this will not happen to someone else's father, mother, or loved one. I must let everyone be aware of this, because that is what the Holy spirit of GOD told me to do.

Drs and nurse staff lacking empathy, non caring and very unprofessional. We had to practically beg the nurses to attend to patient in an intensive care ward. Seemingly more concerned about not being found liable for wrongdoing than providing patient care. Patient who is unconscious left unattended for extended amounts of time, meanwhile contracting infections and generally regressing in health condition. Nurse staff completely unaware of patient medical history which impacted care of the patient. Being immediate family to the patient, some nurse staff and attending physicians were not helpful to explain the status/situation of the patient, rude and discourteous "I have to attend to more important matters, I'm done with you..." from patient Dr.! Nightmare of an experience from immediate family of extremely ill patient, initially tried to have patient transferred to another hospital but obstructed and to no avail, I would highly recommend anywhere except mv.

As soon as we arrived in recovery room the nurse was trying to get us out the door, my wife wasnt even fully awake and was asked if she was ready to go home. She was not offered crutches after an acl replacement surgery. We had to demand they be provided. Then no instruction, here you go now leave. No after care instructions provided except generic clean your wound info.

My elderly aunt had spinal surgery, which went well. We have no problems with the surgeon. When she got in a room most of the nurses were fine but every time she had to get up to use the bathroom she had to wait and wait for help to come. When she couldn’t wait any longer I’d unplug compression boots, help her get up and drag the IV pole behind her to the bathroom. One nurse finally responded to the call bell after 20 minutes or so and instead of helping my aunt back to bed ( I’d already gotten her up so she wouldn’t wet the bed) she just yanked the IV pump plug from the wall and walked out - didn’t say a word!! I don’t know if the hospital is severely understaffed or if most of the existing staff is just very slow .. or uncaring .. or lazy …? I hadn’t been to Maryview in over 20 years and had hoped it had improved. It has not! Never again !!!!!
