God help you if you need the E.R. It’s the toss of a coin if you get a good doctor or not. The E.R. nurses have absolutely no concept of cross contamination. One was about to start an i.v. without washing her hands, after she had been holding onto my shoes while talking to me. Do you want whatever bacteria and viruses on that floor to have a direct route to your bloodstream? Go in for a broken arm and leave with sepsis. The E.R. nurses need to relearn sterilization and contamination procedures.

Okay this was my experience, Tasha Western , and Danielle Castro were amazing nurses , they actually make you feel at home , because most people are pretty sick about being in the hospital . Those 2 young ladies went above and beyond too make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed . I don't know what kind of positive impact this will have , but maybe 🤔 you should recognize your good employees, because they're the ones that make people want to come here , instead of having doubts which so many do . When you get charged over 20,000 bucks your opinion should matter, just saying .. Once again TASHA WESTERN , and DANIELLE CASTRO , deserve some sort of positive impact .. Sincerely Scott Novick

This place is a joke, along with the employee's. They could care less about anyone, their there just to kill 8 or 12 hrs screw the patience. You get there let's say 1 pm your lucky if your out by 1 pm the next day. The slowest and unprofessional place I have ever seen. I had to rate at least a one or it would not let me post, but the place does not deserve a negative 10.

Five surgeries in three months due to post op infective complications, could not transfer as time was critical to save my life and interchanging prosthetics from hip replacement and fracturing hip. Read their performance on leapfrog, read reviews on this hospital. Hospitalists are different every two days, everyone is contracted out so no one is accountable. This seems to be a repeat complaint and nothing changed, why?, so they can code six peoples different diagnoses. If you get records, get paper for operative reports, progress notes, consult progress notes, discharge summaries, vitals, and organize by date (time means nothing) and look at all the contradictions, what’s missing and compare to itemized statements and the coding abstract. Take heed to what I see commented below; do what it says! Know your patient rights and resources. This is a city owned hospital whose board members are appointed by the city council (go to cookeville-tn.gov). Go to Zoominfo to see their executives. Have an unresolved problem, do what it says below. CYA. If necessary, notify The Joint Commission ( JCAHO), Office of Civil Rights, Medicare, your insurer, they cost you nothing. They should lose their government funding and accreditation from what I experienced, others seem to experience and nothing changes.

Worst experience ever. Don’t go there if you want to live. Have a witness 24/7 to ask who, what, when, why and where or implant a body cam cause you can’t trust what is in the record and what is not; they CYA so be sure YOU do. Everyone is contracted out so you’re SOL trying to get any information later. They say you signed consent forms when you didn’t, nothing was documented as to a critical point in surgery, gee can’t find that in the record was their response. Attending doctor on my floor, who you never see, doesn’t even know you’re on her floor as an inpatient. Call there customer service asap for anything and everything or you’ll never know anything. Doctors scream at you. If there for more than 1-2 days, transfer if able! Take pictures of any forms you get, though you never get any especially at discharge. If you don’t have a lawyer established, be prepared and have one handy. If I could, I’d rate them 0.5. The right doesn’t know what the left is doing, fragmented care and records.

They put my mom in a room at the ER with a pile of dirt on the floor, trash on the floor and the walls were dirty. It took hours before a nurse would come in there when asked to while waiting on test results. The nurse practitioner told my mom her results and left the room without taking the needle out of her arm and again a nurse took forever to come in there to take it out when asked. The needle was hurting her. My mom had a huge bruise on her arm afterwards. I asked to be the one responsible for her bill and they wouldn’t let me be. Nobody deserves to treated this way. They charged her way to much for her to be treated like trash. Previously at the walk in clinic she got a really rude desk lady and nurse. The nurse treated my mom like a bother and wasn’t gentle with her while getting a strep test. Again the room was really dirty. My mom deserves better service.

Many of the doctors there are inexperienced and have to work there because the hospital tries to run those who won’t affiliate with them out of town. I was there very sick and the young, could-care- less-and knew-nothing dr stood so far from my bed that she never really saw me. After 2 days of being there and receiving not one drop of medicine, an older nurse got upset and told me she’d SUGGEST one that she thought would help. She said the dr wouldn’t like it if she thought she was being told what to do. I got the nurse’s medicine that afternoon. In addition , this hospital charges a fortune, and if you don’t arrange to begin paying immediately, they have an attorney call and threaten you with having to go to court. Please, someone build a decent hospital in or near Cookeville.

Misdiagnosed me and made me believe I was dying from a tumor. Exaggerated family members - told they had less than a month to live. 3 years ago. Thank god for Vandy. Security guard wanted to meet me in the parking lot to fight when he didn’t like where I parked. Couldn’t create a shittier hospital if you tried.

If you have gas fumes and a pulse, floor it PAST THIS HOSPITAL. I haven’t experienced this level of care in third world countries. My mother entered the emergency room after her oncologist sent her there immediately and even called to try to expedite things. She waited in an uncomfortable chair 7 hours because they were *paging* her *primary care* doctor. Why in the actual hell would you call the doctor we go to for the flu to be in charge of admitting my mother when we were sent by her oncologist!? She had urinated on herself and she sat in that (even tho I’d told the nurses) for SEVEN hours in a room with NO PLUMBING. It was only seven hours bc we raised a ruckus. -They didn’t check my mothers sugar or give her insulin for two days. -Nor was she bathed The debacle with her primary care doctor - Kenny Lynn. He’s 72 and works a few hours a week. He delayed her pain meds and her nausea meds so she was vomiting all over herself, and he ignored test result that said she had blood clots so he could sleep the night and then check on her. When we asked for a hospital doctor to be in charge, Kenny Lynn said he never wanted to see us again. Good riddance. We had good doctors for two days- Dr. Ather and Dr Cox. Unfortunately, then we got Dr Howell, a disheveled man who literally ran away from me when I tried to ask questions- the nurses said “yeah, he’s a runner.” Her pain was terrible and he wasn’t helping. We asked another doctor with privileges to talk to him- she told him to “do better.” We raised another fuss to get him off her care as we were told that was within our patient rights. We talked to all the head nurses of the hospital in my moms final days to make sure she was on comfort care- he never put the order in so her meds were limited again due to his negligence or retaliation. I received multiple apologies, lots of people blaming each other or hospital policy. This hospital should be shut down. I’ll never allow another loved one in those doors. Please note this is one star but I can choose no lower.
