I was admitted to the observation unit from the ER. Very small room. I had no problems with the staff. But, the pharmacy was a dangerous problem. My medications came up there, a few here and there. Then Saturday evening and night my meds did not come. There was no reason given for why the pharmacy wasn't sending my meds. I take medication for atrial fibrillation. I didn't get it that night and in the morning I didn't get the med. By then my pulse was 160! The nurses have no head nurse or nurse supervisor to intervene for them when they are stonewalled by a department. My nurse had to get someone to keep an eye on his patients and go to the pharmacy to get my meds. They gave him no reason why the meds weren't sent. I'll never agree to go to this unit again. Expensive room for lousy care.

My mother was in ER for 9 hours, people in the hallways on stretchers, NO Rooms available. Then she was taken to the observation floor , a room the size of the bed no door just a curtain, 2 bathrooms on the whole floor, aides unhelpful..I had to twice unhook her and take to the bathroom. Crowded, dirty, noisy….never again

Our 9 month old baby started vomiting and having diarrhea suddenly, which our family physician sent us to the toledo hospital for. Here’s our story, and yes, I am calling the medical board, nursing board and an attorney. 5/27. Family dr sent us to ER for vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days. ER diagnosed a 48 hour bug and sent home without doing any testing. Literally zero testing, they only took a temp, never even took a full set of vitals. 6/2 early morning. Vomiting and diarrhea have continued and we’re noticing an obvious weight loss. Family dr says to take her to ER right away. ER diagnosed malnourishment and did lab work, X-ray, urine and nasal swabs after our persistence. Thwy weighed her and she had dropped from 26 pounds to 20.1 pounds in 8 days. That is 1/4 of her weight. They did not want to do any testing because they said and I quote “she looks fine”. After receiving results back they stated everything was fine and sent us home with nothing. We reinforced she was lethargic, sleeping a lot and had lost 6 pounds and diapers and clothes were fitting her differently. They said it was fine and diagnosed malnourishment and sent us home with nothing. No meds, no referrals, nothing. 6/2. Late night into 6/3 morning, went back to ER for projectile vomiting, diarrhea, more lethargic and skin turning pale. They said she has good color but because she’s Hispanic we attempted to explain that the color she has right now is NOT normal for her. They said she’s fine. They said she has acid reflux and wanted to send her home. We refused and insisted something more than just that is wrong. The ER supervisor said they would admit her for weight loss. We prepared for that and then a woman hospitalist came in and stated she “doesn’t care if we have to return a thousand times she’s not admitting the baby”. She said We need to try Prilosec and sees her family physician for follow up on Friday. She said the baby needs an ultrasound but that there are none available in the hospital at 230 am. After We refused to leave they gave a suppository and said she had a blockage/constipation on the X-ray that was completed at the previous ER visit that was never told to us, and suppository yielded no results. We questioned why and made them aware that she had had diarrhea, projectile vomiting and lethargy and they insisted on continuing their course of treatment. They of course sent us home with a third diagnosis a lot of attitude. 3 ER visits 5 days apart. 3 completely different diagnoses for the exact same symptoms . Same hospital No results. She’s continuing to projectile vomit and diarrhea is worsening and she’s becoming difficult to arouse. I’m disgusted and have no idea how they are allowed to treat people like this.

I wondered why the price of an annual test I had went up. Apparently they call a room in the outpatient facility "Toledo Hospital" and they bill inpatient rates for an out patient procedure. The only thing that changed besides the fact the cost tripled was they put a sign above the door that says "You are now entering Toledo Hospital"! Shop around and save your money.

After stent placement recovery I was in a room with only a curtain no doors. Constant loud noise also complained about chest pain and they said that was normal without checking me later I insisted on having chest pain checked and the troponin levels were elevated but lab did not report the results for almost 2 hours. I will not go to Toledo hospital again.

Money driven hospital. Difficult staff and always owe more out of pocket than any other area hospitals.

The ER at this hospital has gone WAY DOWN in quality. They didn't even use anesthesia or a local when sewing my finger back on. Not only was this horrible but the doctor didn't get it on straight the first time and had to do it a second time. I was in horrible pain and he dismissed my concerns and only yelled at me. There is no way I will EVER go to their ER AGAIN!!! Shame on that doctor for being so brutal with me!!!
