I sat in a room for almost 2 hours with no service done, not even a hello and introduction from a nurse. When I approached the nurse she was sitting yapping away eating a big breakfast. Never asked me if I needed anything or if there was anything she can do for me. Never took that opportunity to introduce herself. She told me to wait for my provider. I waited for 30 mins and then decided to leave. Informed her and she just said "ok". Poor poor poor patient care. Emergency room is not for emergencies. I left to St. John's hospital in Yonkers where they attended to me within 20mins. I called patient care office of St Lawrence Hospital, she asked for my name, told me to hold on, and was on hold for 7 mins, until I hung up and called back. Received another person and she apoligized with excuses. I DO NOT recommend St Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.

We took my 90 year old mother who had a UTI to the emergency room in July. I requested that someone change her numerous times before two burly men finally came in. My father and I walked outside the room. Two minutes later, we heard screams coming from my mother. We both walked in. She was screaming to be careful with her legs as she had terrible nerve damage. I wanted to explain to them why they had to be careful and they shooed us out. Another minute went by, and we heard a piercing scream from my mother. We both walked back in again with another nurse. Security then tells me that I had to wait in the waiting area. That same nurse returned about 10 minutes later all nice & sweet and told me that they were moving my mother to another area of the ER that was quiet and she would like it much better, and took me back.I was holding my mother’s hand and she kept telling me that they hurt her. I kept trying to understand what she was referring to, when I noticed that her left arm was heavily bandaged with a large piece of gauze under the bandage. I asked the nurse who had taken me back what had happened to my mother and she said she had no idea and literally ran out of the room. I found my mother’s nurse, demanded that she see her right away and take this bandage off of her arm so that I could see what was going on under it. Her thin skin had been ripped away raw. The size of a half dollar! NO ONE SAID A WORD TO US!! That was obviously the loud scream that we heard. The nurse looked at it and said it needed to have bacitracin right away. So not only did this nurse or two nurses and a tech try to cover up what they somehow had done, but they didn’t even apply any bacitracin. It seemed to be taken very seriously. The nurse manager, filed a report and Took a picture. I finally received a report two days ago. There was absolutely ZERO Accountability on the part of anyone. It just said she banged her arm and they applied pressure. There was not one response about why we were not told. Just figured an old woman would never say anything. Patient services is not there for the patients!! They protect the hospital and their staff at all cost. My mother is no longer here to fight her fight so I have to do it for her. I am outraged at how this was handled. These men were not gentle with her. I do not think that either of them meant to hurt her, in fact in the report, it said that she was not a found to be “assaulted”, a term I never ever used when I gave the report. I do think, however, they were rough. This was a frail sick woman with cancer and somehow she either banged her arm when they turned her or the hospital bracelet that was on her arm, ripped her skin off. I Will never know exactly what happened but what matters is they clearly tried to cover it up. Had my mother been alone, and had I not noticed this very large bandage of gauze, wrapped and wrapped and wrapped around her arm, No one would have done anything. When I received the report back from patient services and I called to indicate how upset I was, I spoke with a very lovely woman. I’m not going to mention her name, but she knew that her hands were tied. She knew that this was handled incorrectly, but there’s nothing for her to do and unfortunately, there is no one above her that I could talk to.(*Do not deal with Lynn!!) The administration of this hospital is absolutely unacceptable. Their policies of allowing only one person into the ER and two into a room is also asinine . There are circumstances that need to circumvent policies and rules that are made to be broken, depending on a given situation. If not, for two doctors (Ahktar & Kanner) and the wonderful nurses on the fourth floor in the cancer ward, I would have not one positive thing to say. And please administration… Save your canned response. I have no interest in a response if it is going to be your robotic comment that you make to most people that Give a negative review. I’m doing this, not for your response, but to protect other potential patients and especially, ESPECIALLY elderly patients.

My mother-in-law was brought there and my wife was with her waiting in the hallway at the emergency room. They made my wife leave and stay outside for over two hours and my mother-in-law has dementia. This hospital has to be worse. Something has to be done..

A horrible experience. After waiting close to 4 hours, I left not having been seen by anyone other than the triage nurse who didn’t look me in the eye once during our interaction. After that I was put in a waiting area with nothing said to me for for hours until I asked when I might be seen. My answer? “ I have no idea. We only have 1 doctor and 1 PA. O.K.?” Well, no. It’s not OK. What a miserable and unempathetic treatment towards people in pain.

Do not go to this hospital. Go to St. John’s or Westchester Medical. The staff here has no empathy and could care less if you dropped dead in the waiting room. If you live through that you’ll be sent home almost immediately to die en route to your home. Seriously.

Inordinate amount of time waiting for a doctor. You could literally die waiting. Indifference seems to be the staff’s true calling.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It is absolutely horrible. No one comes to check on you and see if you’re alive. It took over 4 hours for my mother to be seen and everyone in the ER including all the staff and patients have heard her mind of pain and sounds of vomiting for hours. Not one person stopped by to check in on her. This place needs to be shutdown it is a disgrace that humans get treated so poorly when they are so vulnerable.

Emergency room doctors are slow and absolutely no bedside manor. Plan on spending an overwhelming amount of time for tests after you've been seen. Don't plan on the ER Doctor to check in on you or keep you informed about tests they plan to perform. If you can goto another ER you are more likely to get better service.
