Ratings for Spring Harbor Hospital
This hospital has some really terrible staff, that need the hospital more than the pacients ! Many just sit behind the big desk area, pretending they dont see you. A really nasty Nurse was there and went out of her way to glare at me and made my stay misserable! She refused to make me coffee on my first day there, pretending to be too busy. What I finally ended up with was a cup of old, cold coffee, , which was ridiculous, how she gets away with being so cruel and Nasty is beyond me!!!! I sent in a complaint, very valid, but of course they said that the Head Nurse said that it was not her intention at all. I was furious and feel sorry for others that are sent for help and receive only minimal care. There was another girl in Spring Harbor who was also being treated poorly from the same Head Nurse. Most people probably get out and never do a rating due to not having the means, forgetting about how important it is to try to make things better! There are many great nurses and other staff that are great and go out of their way to help. The guys on the second shift are friendly and helpful, not using their power to make thi a more difficult stay!
Spring Harbor is supposed to be top notch. However, absolutely no therapy, very limited group therapy and limited activities. For anyone coping with crisis, no assistance provided. Facility very poorly laid out - patient lounge very small - cannot even fit all patients from unit in at one time. No options for anything to do all day. TV left off, no puzzles, games, etc. No way to distract self from perseverate, painful thoughts. Staff very distant. Sit behind desk with no interaction with patients other than to check off on list that patient still alive every 15 minutes. No compassion or care from staff, particularly the nurses and techs. Very surprised at the poor quality of care. If you're looking for treatment, this is NOT the place to go. I'm sorry for anyone who ends up there in crisis.
