Florida Medical Center

This is the proverbial straw with Florida Medical Clinic. I have had problems with them in the past, but the latest has caused me to change primary care physicians. I have seen the same dermatologist for the past five years since I am high risk for skin cancer. I saw my dermatologist a month ago and he found a few AKs and a few growths that needed to be removed. His office sent a fax to Florida Medical Clinic to get the approval. No response. The office sent it again a few days later. No response. The dermatologist office contacted me, and I contacted Florida Medical Clinic. They stated they did not get the fax because they changed the fax number. Another fax was sent, and it was approved. The following day was the day of my appointment, and a few hours before my appointment, Florida Medical Clinic called to let me know the approval was reversed because my PCP stated he could do it himself. Further, the PCP stated my dermatologist is not in their referral network. Doesn’t matter that the PCP has two other patients that are referred to the same dermatologist. My dermatologist knows the issues I have with my skin, and he knows what needed to be handled. As a result, I am leaving Florida Medical Clinic and will get a new PCP. I do NOT recommend Florida Medical Clinic.

Don't go there. Overinflated prices. Very poor treatment.
