They might as well close the doors in my opinion. They do not help the patients. There is no counseling to deal with mental health issues, multiple diagnosis, medicate and kick out. The patients eat ,watch tv, roam around all day . If they are real good they can go to the gym. Why bother sit and talk to your patients and come up with a plan to actually deal with the issues. Here's a prescription you are healed. I was told my son was full of ideas of grandeur. That he was not a red sealed welder, and sheet metal fabricator. Dr Bowlyn called him a liar more than once and that the things he was saying were only in his head and did not listen to anything that was said to him. He has A God complex in my opinion. What is the purpose of a mental hospital if not to deal with the issues or is it a drug and and release program. Who care if the problem was treated or being treated. Just another number and a pay check. Don't do the actual work.

The staff here actually believe that seroquel will keep a patient safe from alcohol withdrawl. They treat their patients with contempt and disrespect. Medications are frequently forgotten or even taken away from the patient entirely as a punishment. This facility needs to be investigated before they hurt someone vulnerable. If I didn't speak up and advocate for myself, and if not for the work of the THIRD psychiatrist I was introduced to, I would have died from alcohol withdrawl in this hospital.

Pretty horrific treatment of patients occurs in this facility from many nurses and staff. Nursing manager is very condescending, as well as many nurses. Staff are extremely over worked and burned out, but that does not mean they should be allowed to disregard and treat patients like dirt. The dietician literally starves the patients and quite literally keeps snacks to a minimum. It is well known by long term patients. So disgusting and it’s no wonder no one is getting the mental help they need when they are being controlled and abused in care facilities such as this one.

The treatment of patients is poor. Acute mental health is simply a jail, no therapy is offered.

This place is straight out of the 1800’s both Dr, , nurse and building. This place should be closed

Darryl on Unit 8 is the worst public health employee I've ever seen. He cant go two minutes without making a terrible joke @ then laughing VERY loudly at himself. My room was at the opposite end of the hall @ I couldn't escape his daily 12 hour idiotic comedy routine. I heard him making fun of peoples disabilities, making sexual innuendos to female staff @ telling stories ridiculing patients struggles. I couldn't have my own train of thought without him interrupting me with his constant innapropriate joking and laughter. when patients approached him with basic needs he treated them as if they were a complete nuisance @ inconvience. His behaviour would be innapropriate working in a fast food restaurant, but the fact that he behaves this way in a psychiatric hospital is nothing short of appalling. Its as though he's a 13 year old child new to the workplace @ feels the need to make an idiot of himself @ everyone else in order to fit in. I struggled to have thoughts of my own because he constantly distracted me for 12 straight. He NEVER stops. Its like his running dialogue replaced my train of thought. The rest of the staff just awkwardly laughed along with him, as if there's nothing they can do about it so they just go along with it. It's unbelievable to observe @ listen to them go on, very loudly as if nobody can hear them. It's nothing short appalling to see a unit being run like this, with the patients expected to just be quiet and accept it, often being sent to our rooms like we're children. What an absolute disgrace. Dr. Jay should be ashamed @ Darryl Nicholson should be fired. What a horrible experience.

Horrible hospital, horrific unhealthy food, and nasty staff headed by the inhumane, disrespectful, incompetent, evil Dr. Robert Jay. Health PEI should be ashamed!!!

Darrel nickleson on unit 8 is the meanest sadistic person on the planet.. atitude of a bully.. treats paitents like they are pennies. Tossed and f...ed around... he tried to bully big dean... dean was ready to hammer him
