Emerg at the Sarnia hospital is a farce. Triage is nothing short of pathetic and most of the doctors either haven't got a clue, are to arrogant to listen to their patients or prescribe ineffective treatments. The hospital in Petrolia may be smaller but they provide outstanding services and patient care in the emerg dept. I've been dealing with misdiagnosis and poor judgement on the part of many doctors at the sarnia hospital for over 25 years. The only way I'll ever go to that hospital again is if I'm dead and then I won't have a choice. The rest of the services in the hospital are awesome. The nursing staff, even in emerg, are awesome. The only problem is the triage and some of the doctors. My last visit 10 hours in excruciating pain.
My mom was recently admitted by ambulance with very high blood pressure and vomiting. The nurses came in and hooked up the heart monitor and blood pressure monitor, but gave her nothing to lower it. I was concerned due to the fact that it was dangerously high, heart attack numbers but the nurses kept telling me they were not concerned. We waited from 10am till 7pm before the doctor came in to see her. The doctor that came in did not wash his hands and he clearly had a cold! He was coughing and his nose was running and he did not put on a mask! I offered him a cough drop and suggested he put on a mask, he ignored me. This is a doctor, they should know better. They are visiting sick patients and the patients do no need any other complications. So unprofessional. This hospital needs to retrain its staff.
On Jan. 17 2019 my husband had day surgery for a minor hand problem. Apart from a delay getting into the OR which was about an hour behind schedule, his care was excellent from the time we arrived at 8:50 to the discharge time in the afternoon. Dr. Wong, the anaesthetist whose name I can't recall, all OR staff, and particularly the day surgery nurse, Mary Lou R., were solicitous and competent. We have been very fortunate in almost every occasion that we've used Bluewater Health emergency and surgical services to have received excellent care. Timeliness could be improved but emergencies take priority. We're grateful to have this hospital in Sarnia. R.F. and L.W.F.
I hate this hospital it is the worst ! Lousy doctors & lousy service ! Don't waste your time trying to go there you will be waiting for hours & get nothing but aggravated !! I don't even bother with this dump of a hospital anymore I just go to the clinic where it is much faster & better service & doctors who actually listen & care about their patients !!
Recently my mom was taken by EMS to Bluewater Health ER. She was having chest discomfort. We waited and waited and waited for anyone to even acknowledge that she was there. She could have been dead and nobody would have known until after the fact. The staff finally did come and started testing. Results seemed like they took days. Staff in the ER are very rude and lack compassion. We were there a total of 8 hours, and we were not even offered a glass of water. Very sad state of affairs!
Horrible. I come to the ER with severe right sided pain. They left me waiting to see a doctor for 12 hours. I was here the whole shift of the day people. Nurses were not very nice and did not check to see how I was doing or anything! HORRIBLE like I said waited 12 hours to see a doctor just to get my blood and urine samples back.
Horrible. I was a mental health patient and they treated me so bad, the nurses were rude and didn't care how they acted. I had to change out of my clothes and nurse told me if I didn't hurry up she'd get security to "do it for me" I hate this place. I came out worse than I went it.
