They refuse to answer questions and believe they are untouchable, that's fine,I've registered a complaint with the RPNO ,Enjoy your calls from them on Monday,I will continue to call them daily till I have results,Ignorant staff ,refuse to answer questions,then blow you off,The little hospital that couldn't, Don't give me a name...I'll let The RPNO deal with it ...

I do not recommend South Huron Emergency Department to anybody. As much as the nurses are professional and caring but the ER physician Dr. Nelhem ( could be wrong spelling) has the worst bed side manner that I have ever experienced. He is rude insulting and I could even feel the racism in his attitude. The first experience that I had with this physician was during the COVID when I had chest pain, and he accused me that I have been sitting at home eating my dinner and watching TV all night and then I decided to go to ER at 10 pm. I didn't say anything even I knew he was wrong (as I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol and coronary heart disease is hereditary in my family and I lost my father to heart infarction at a very young age) and knew that I have to be super cautious when it comes to chest pain. My second time experience with this physician was when my wrist got broken and I was refereed to the ER by my family physician to have it casted. This diagnosis was given by the radiology specialist at the Lucan Radiology Center after the second Xray with at least 8 images from my right hand in different angels. The first X-Ray was done at the South Huron Hospital radiology department when I fell and South Huron Radiology department reported not broken. I drove to hospital as soon as my doctor called me and after finally I was seen by Dr. Nilhem, he became angry when I came with no splint on my hand and he said (exact wording) why I had not the stupid splint on). I explained to him that I had it on most of the times since I had the accident but I had to removed it for typing that I had to use my fingers at work and beside their own radiology department reported that my hand is not broken anyway. He said I didn't care about stupid typing or whatever I had to do and I had to wear it all the times anyway. When I was explaining to him I used the word Brace instead using Splint and he made fun of me and humilated me because using the word Brace and asked me who told me it is called Brace. I noticed that he was using my accent to blame me not using the Brace instead Splint which I heard using Brace even from the orthopedic supplies store staff in London when I purchased the Brace. Anyway he ordered another X=Ray as he was not convinced that my hand broken and I did another Xray at the hospital in just two angels and again the radiology technician reported not broken. And he requested a CT scan to be done at the Goderich Hospital. And he again insulting me that I am worst than a child and I need to put that damn stupid splint or whatever I name it on until they get the result from the Ct Scan. All that time I said a few words and just enduring his verbal abuse and thinking does my accent also convinced him me as a stupid person that he allows himself to treat me in such a poor attitude as well. I left the hospital that night almost in tears and the next day I called my family physician that never ever refer me to this hospital again. Also when I shared my experience at work I heard from two people that there are so many complaints about this physician hand hospital is aware of the problem yet this physician still works at this hospital with the same attitude toward patients.

A small town hospital, which should provide complementarity maps & directions so those in need can find Victoria Hospital or UH in London, and a sign pointing to the Number 4 South. "The little hospital that could!" I guess...

I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO BE EDUCATED A LOT MORE IN HEALTHCARE-SHH IS A SMALL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL...PHYSICIANS ARE WELL TRAINED ...THEY MUST ALL HAVE EMERGENCY COURSES TO WORK IN ER...COURSES THAT THE SAME PHYSICIANS IN LONDON,TORONTO AND KITCHENER HAVE TO HAVE-SOME EVEN HAVE A SUB SPECIALTY IN ER MEDICINE...MOST PATIENTS WILL ATTEND A SMALLER ER IN HOPES OF AVOIDING A WAIT TIME AT A LARGER CENTRE..IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN YOU ARE NOT AN EMERGENCY...YOU ARE A CONVENIENCE...ER'S ARE NOT SET UP TO LOOK AFTER YOUR DAY TO DAY AILMENTS THAT YOU NEITHER TRY MAKING AN APPT WITH YOUR OWN DOCTOR FOR, OR TRY AND HELP YOURSELF...MANY RENDER THEMSELVES HELPLESS AS SOON AS THEY CROSS THE THRESHOLD OF THE HOSPITAL.( EVEN THOUGH THEY DRIVE THEMSELVES TO THE HOSPITAL AND ARE VERY CAPABLE AT WALKING IN)..IT HAS A LONG HX OF TOP NOTCH MD'S AND ER NURSES...THE COMPLAINTS PEOPLE HAVE ARE BECAUSE THEIR EXPECTATION WAS TO JUST BREEZE IN AND BREEZE OUT, MAKING IT MORE CONVENIENT FOR THEMSELVES...YOU SHOULD BE GREATFUL THAT YOU AREN'T BEING ATTENDED TO BY THE ER DOCTOR AND SEVERAL NURSES AS THIS WOULD INDICATE THAT YOU ARE VERY ILL....MANY GET UPSET BECAUSE THEIR EXPECTATION IS THAT IT IS A DRIVE THROUGH AND THEY DON'T LIKE TO WAIT..BE GREATFUL YOU ARENT THE SICKEST PT IN THE DEPARTMENT...LAY PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA HOW THINGS WORK AT HOSPITALS NOWADAYS....I WONDER IF ALL OF YOUR ATTITUDES WOULD CHANGE IF YOU WERE PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE FOR YOUR NON URGENT, NON EMERGENCY VISIT FOR CONVENIENCE SAKE...TID BIT...IF YOU CAME TO THE ER WITH YOUR DEATHLY ILL SORE THROAT, BY THE TIME YOUR VISIT WAS DONE, IT WOULD COST APPROX 400-500$...ALL FOR A SORE THROAT, OR "I NEED A SICK NOTE FOR WORK"...I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE GO TO AN EMERGENCY ROOM WITH NON EMERGENCY PROBLEMS..

Stay away from this hospital. Its reputation in the community is one where people are sent to die. Many people, including several family members of mine died in this hospital due to the stupidity, unethical, and unprofessional conduct of the doctors hired by this sham of a medical facility. I purposely travel a little further just to avoid this shameful facility. I had a family member turn sick over the Easter weekend, made repeated trips to the ER, had the doctor woke up from his sleep to see this family member. Diagnosed as a gas bubble, but at the end, it was a ruptured stomach ulcer that blew a hole through the stomach lining. First doctor said to try to burp it out, second doctor suggested a laxative, and finally the third doctor called St. Josephs Hospital in London where this person was rushed for emergency surgery. Drs in London said this person was literally just hours from death. The X-Ray dept was open on Saturday, then closed sunday, and open again Monday. Second doctor did not want to have those who work in the x-ray dept called in on sunday for an emergency, when this dept should be open at all times, with staff on call on holidays. This hospital will never be forgotten nor forgiven for their unprofessional, unethical, lazy and utter stupidity of their doctors. I will always refuse treatment at this shameful facility and would NEVER donate to it either.

Top notch nurses that work in palliative care! Friendly , knowledgeable staff. Great support staff.

If I had the time and money, I would make it a point that almost everyone associated with this hospital be sued for unethical and unprofessional conduct. I now make a point of travelling an extra 15 miles to avoid this house of horrors. I could tell stories of this hospital that would make a rat sick to its stomach. Stay away if at all possible."the little hospital that can't."

Do not know how to assess patients who are becoming critically ill and need to be transferred.
