My partner had an obstructed bile duct from a gallstone, but the Dr here just called my partner fat and said he probably just needed a big deffication. The Dr here didn't think it had anything to do with his gallbladder and told my partner they had a bowel obstruction, then proceeded to prescribe buscopan which you shouldn't prescribe to people with bowel obstructions to the best of my knowledge (https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/1775/pil#gref). Thankfully my partner received proper care in Edmonton and had his gallbladder removed. One note of sympathy - the Dr only had 1 hour of sleep between shifts. Our provincial government destroyed the healthcare system and our health staff are overworked and deserve better. But they still should be professional and compassionate to patients.

I arrived at Valley View ER on June 29, 2015 with severe kidney stone pain around 6 a.m. The nurses cared less about my situation by asking questions that had nothing to do with why I as there ,"Just making conversation" when asking very personal questions they had no need of asking. I was switched around to three different beds in the ER and told the nurse I had to go to the washroom and that I would give a specimen she didn't even hear me and then when I used a specimen cup that was right there in the bathroom she threw it out because, "She hadn't given it me so how did I know it was clean and sterile." She then proceeded to have to "talk with her colleagues" as to what to do with me! Hello how about call the doctor. After being there for over 1/2 hour with nothing being done, not even the doctor called I left and went to Peace River where I was treated like royalty compared to the treatment at Valley View.

Although the Valleyview doctors have full patient rosters I have been admitted to the hospital there twice in the last three years. The treatment I received was second to none. The nursing staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable and see to your needs. A much more comfortable experience than a larger hospital and the parking is free!

Nurse claims SPO2, the little thing on finger readings are good. So no way my husband could have CO poisoning. CO poisoning is detected through a blood test, SPO2 will NOT indicate.
