Dr Patrick Schafer impressed me as a knowledgeable surgeon during my initial medical appointment. At that time, I was in a significant amount of pain and Dr Schafer listened to my concerns, answering my questions with clear explanations about all treatment options available to me. His comprehensive responses gave both my care team and me confidence in proceeding with surgery. Dr Schafer’s exceptional surgical skill has resulted in increased mobility and significant pain alleviation for me. Additionally, his and his medical office team’s attentive care during both the pre-operative and post-operative phases has been exemplary. Throughout my experience, I found Dr Schafer to be highly skilled, attentive to me as a patient & extremely thorough. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Dr. Schafer is an amazing Orthopedic Surgeon! I was up and around within 2 weeks without pain. I have had no complications and I feel great. Dr. Schafer is new to Redding and works with Dr. Brubaker and Mercy Hospital. He was so kind to me and my daughter, through the entire process. He explains every aspect of the surgery and took time to answer all my questions and concerns. He was extremely knowledgeable and let me know what to expect before, during and after the surgery. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Schafer!! I had am telling everyone how amazing he is and how well my surgery turned out.

Why Did You Become a Medical Provider? I chose to become a medical provider after I suffered a hiking injury that severely limited my ability to compete in my chosen sport and perform my job at the highest level. After going through multiple surgeries and long recovery I decided to go back to school to help people as an orthopaedic surgeon.Philosophy of Care: My philosophy of care is that the best outcomes occur when the patient and providers work as a team and follow evidence based practices.Personal Interests and Hobbies: Traveling, hiking, watching sports
