Ratings for Dr. Jacob Wynes
I was referred to Dr. Wynes after seeing two other podiatrists that could not help me. My foot and ankle were in terrible shape along with severed tendons in my foot; when I could walk, it was on the ball of my ankle. I was practically living in a wheelchair. Dr. Wynes changed my life; without getting too technical he did a foot and ankle reconstruction and deltoid ligament reconstruction, along with a triple arthrodesis. The recovery and rehab was practically painfree and I learned to walk again. His experience and skills as my surgeon and podiatrist have given me my life back; I am able to walk and exercise again and as an added plus I've lost over 150 lbs, due to my ability to be physical again. If I have a question or problem I will email him and he replies within the hour. Telephone calls are also prompt and the associate is knowledgeable and helpful. My follow-up and post op visits are and continue to be 1st rate; the staff and Dr. Wyne's assistants are very prompt, extremely helpful and always smiling. (It amazes me to see some of these remarks; this is NOT an accurate review of Dr. Wynes; I also think when you criticize everyone down to the staff and punctuality, you kind of have an agenda of some sort). In closing, I must say that I have my life back; I was living on pain pills from another surgeon and suffering with depression. I'm grateful to, and thank, Dr. Wynes, the U of M doctors, nurses and staff for their excellent care. Dr. Wynes is a very caring and special surgeon and doctor that can and will be able to help you
I was referred to Dr Wynes for a 2nd opinion. I had a heel wound and a calcaneus fracture. The podiatrist at Franklin Square Hospital decided to amputate my leg from the knee down because he thought there was an infection in the bone and I am a diabetic. From the 1st day I met Dr Jacob Wynes he has been nothing but honest and straight forward. He immediately scheduled a nuclear bone scan which determined there never was an infection. He is a very knowledgeable physician and surgeon as well as a teacher to the many interns he has instructed during our visits. He and his staff are always respectful and prepared. He set a goal and together, along with the staff at the wound center at UMH, followed his precise instructions to save my foot. I have found Dr Wynes to be extremely intelligent, personable, compassionate and very well respected at the University of MD Hospital. He has a wonderful sense of humor, which he sometimes uses to help put his patients at ease. My wife and I found that to be very comforting. The wound has now healed and Dr Wynes operated on my foot to repair the fracture. I have the utmost respect for Dr Wynes and an abundance of confidence in him. I have recommended him to friends and co-workers because I have him to thank for doing everything possible to help me. Thanks Doc! Sincerely, TA
By far the best surgeon I have ever had. After previous failed foot surgeryas a child, he has fixed my life long foot deformity. Dr.Wynes and his staff where beyond exceptional. Because of his abilities and being so successful with what he does, I no longer have insecurities about my foot. He was very thorough with my follow-up care and always available whenever I needed him or had a question. Without a doubt, I will be scheduling to have my second foot fixed, in the very near future. -Teia
I was referred to Dr Wynes by my local orthopedic Dr as I had literally shattered my foot into about 30 pieces. .. I was immediately put at ease by Dr Wynes. .. he has always taken the time to answer any questions I have ever had and even though recovery has had a few bumps in the road none were through anything he did but because of some illnesses that my body has.. he is always kind, caring and informative... I will never let anyone else near my feet....
I was referred to Dr. Wynes by my local podiatrist for a surgical procedure that required a certain skill set, experience and expertise. From what I've learned throughout this entire surgical procedure, there's only a select few foot and ankle Doctors within this immediate area that have the skill set to perform a triple arthrodesis (triple fusion.) My outcome from Dr. Wynes was nothing short of a miracle. Post 180 days now, I can't thank him enough! My mobility is now great after some grueling PT. I have no pain and I'm now back to exercing! After surgery Dr. Wynes was always accessible, informative, great bed side manners and would always put my mind at ease especially after the procedure. I would highly recommend an appointment with Dr. Wynes to get his professional opinion before undergoing any major foot surgery. He speaks nothing but the truth and does only what's in the patients best interest. Thanks for everything Dr. Wynes. Sincerely, RW
My daughter was born with a congenital foot deformity. After seeing numerous specialists, we were very fortunate to find Dr. Wynes. Prior to surgery, Dr. Wynes took a lot of time to explain the condition and the procedure and also answered all of our many concerns. Within a short period of time after surgery, my daughter is able to run and play soccer, which she could not do before her surgery. Dr. Wynes was caring with a great bedside manner. He made a huge difference in my child's life.
HORRIBLE! Incompetent, arrogant, and rude. Brand new doctor and very inexperienced and poorly trained. Gave me a non-union (a bone that doesn't heal) during bunion surgery. Because of him I'm in pain whenever stand on one foot (like in the shower), run, and brake while driving. He clearly became a doctor for money, not to help people. I had a pain script after surgery written incorrectly and un-fillable by the pharmacy, had to get a new Rx the following morning. Failed to apologize for this (he let a resident do it and failed to be responsible for his error of failure to supervise) or express any concern that I was in pain the night after surgery. I have no idea how he was even given a license to practice, he has absolutely no attention to detail. He made my life worse, a foot is a critical part of your anatomy and your quality of life. No accountability for this error, I'm left with a far more painful foot than I started out with and all the bills and anguish that come with that and he gets to keep ruining peoples lives. No matter how bad your foot is either live with it (because it can be worse) or find someone else. The sad thing is he has had ample opportunity to make this right, he knows I have a bad result and chose to ignore.
