Dr Sutton is always late, and rushes you. He has no empathy or concern and had a combative demeanor throughout the appointment. He brings bias to the appointment when concerning mental health issues and not supportive at all. He confused me with another patient and I am not sure if he has the correct medical record. He sits staring at the computer and seems disinterested and watches the clock even though he was late to the appointment. I would rather be without a doctor than continue to see him. Very poor bedside attitude and terrible attitude.

Very cold with no knowledge of anxiety disorders. Treated as if I were a drug addict instead of an anxiety patient. Awful, terrible!

I accompanied my 19 year-old daughter to her appointment with Dr. Sutton as she had been having some unidentified allergy symptoms that started when she was living in Mexico for a year that were worsening each day, accompanied by debilitating fatigue, food and chemical sensitivities, migraines, brain fog, rashes and diarrhea. As mentioned in the reviews below, Dr. Sutton was tapping his foot the whole appointment and seemed annoyed and impatient that we were there wasting his time... My daughter was in tears and he had zero compassion for what she was going through. He didn’t request any blood tests, or other referrals. Our request was for a referral to an allergist. He said the allergist we had previously seen wouldn’t accept the referral since we had seen him 3 years ago. This is my daughter. The most important person to me, and he minimized her pain to talk about overburdened healthcare system. Kindness and empathy are free and would go along way to comfort patients with complex conditions instead of dismissing them that it’s all in their heads. Three days after seeing Dr. Sutton, my daughter had a very severe anaphylactic reaction and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. I will never let anyone speak to my daughter the way he did. It was dismissive and disrespectful and did more harm than good. If Dr. Sutton doesn’t like working with people, he should do research instead or something where he doesn’t have to work directly with patients.

I felt very rushed when I was in his office. Mirroring the other commends, Dr. Sutton’s beside manner is poor.

As noted, Dr Sutton has a painfully hurried demeanour. The non-stop foot tapping and other anxious behavior does little to bring calm to the appointment (it was so distracting and unsettling, I was this close to asking "Sorry, am I keeping you from catching a flight?"). I was in for severe depression / anxiety / high BP and saw Dr Sutton, who was doing a locum at my regular doc's office. And while I'm grateful to anyone who chooses to go into the field - particularly when there's a shortage of GPs in Canada - I wish there was more of a premium on developing good bedside manner wrt young physicians. Maybe there is and this simply isn't Dr S's strong suit Dr Sutton, I hope you read your reviews and are the type who's interested in developing and rounding your skills beyond the clinical. It seems you know what your'e talking about, and my sense is that on balance you had good info to impart. But please know that you are the leader in your exam room and are the one who sets the tone. Some focussed, empathetic listening and a little human compassion would go a long way to establishing optimal trust and openness with your patients. Thank you.

I think Dr. Sutton doesn't have the best bedside manner, but he knows his stuff. He's on time and prompt. I've always felt safe and cared for in his care. You can always get in to see him.

He’s rushed, had horrible bedside, taps his foot the whole time like he has to leave. Young new doctor that should be a researcher and not with actual people
