After 3 weeks since Dr Smith operated on my L4 /L5 back I and several therapy sessions, I felt comfortable enough to walk several houses over to get the mail. I made it feeling great, so I pushed myself to walk around the block whereby before surgery, my legs would give out. They were numb all the way up to my groin area and I felt very weary. I made it all the way around the block and I felt as good as when I started . Thank you Dr Smith. You are fabulous!!!

Dr Dean Smith was highly experienced very knowledgeable and confident. He makes you feel extremely comfortable before and after operation. I highly recommend him because I had 2 disc removed/replaced without any complications. He follows up on you personally through his personal cell phone that he provided me with. His staff is a little slow and wait for the doctor on everything versus helping him out with office workload. Great surgeon.

Changed my husband’s life forever. Not in a positive way. Save yourself enormous pain . Rue the day Smith operated on him. Terrible experience.

His office staff is very chatty, loud and will keep a conversation even when your standing at the front desk. Total distregard for patients in waiting room.

Dr Smith was everything I was looking for in a doctor. The reason I was referred to him was that I was having shoulder pains. After X-rays and an MRI, and good news that he did not think my rotator cuff was torn, we tried injections. That did not help so we discussed and agreed to surgery for rotator cuff tendinitis, impingement sundrome of shoulder and osteoarthritis in the shoulder. After surgery and therapy I am much better. Due to my age, I will never be 100%, but I am happy with my surgery and progress. Dr Smith and his staff were always very kind and considerate, they answered any questions myself or family member had and were genuine concerned with me well being. If I needed to have another shoulder surgery, I would seek out Dr Smith.

Its tough to rate a physician who can basically act more like a meat butcher.

Dr. Smith is probably the best orthopedic doctor in the Houston area. My neighbor hurt his elbow so I took him and his wife to see him. After his review of his injury (which did not need surgery) they both loved him and told me why I had faith in him as doctor, but also as a good human being. If you need orthopedic for the hand DO NOT go to anyone else but him.

Terrible experience with this doctor! PLEASE Do your research for something as serious as (in my case) Back surgery. Pain is still here, have not healed well and I cannot get in touch with this dr for a follow up. I get fielded to his "office manager" who is his wife or associate (who is his sister). So disappointed and still in incredible pain. I am now currently looking for another surgeon to hopefully correct my back. Also the wait time is at least a few hours and the staff continuously makes mistakes or didn't call in prescriptions. Overall, a really terrible experience.
